    Gaming Monitor discussion

This is the monitor I'm pretty sure I'm gonna snag in the next day or two. Thoughts from the experts?
    ASUS MG28UQ
Mainly will be for my Pro and near future CPU that I will be building.

I'm not a fan of TN panels, not nearly as bright & colorful as an IPS panel.

I'd go with the LG 27ud69P over that Asus myself.

After going from TN panels over to IPS (I'm talking specifically monitors not tvs) there's no going back.

I'm sure sbauer can attest to that as well.

But I'd say do a comparison between the two models and make an informed decision. My vote would be the LG of the two as I've said.

      Good luck!

Thanks for the information. Bright and colorful is HUGE when it comes to my purchase. Gonna do some research on the model you listed above. Thanks again sir.

Yup. I was getting ready to say the same thing.

I may be mistaken but I think jarebear was talking about getting the lg monitor. Not sure if he ended up getting it.

I brought home an LG 27ud69P from Best Buy earlier today and have been messing around with the settings throughout the day. The colors are incredibly vibrant and not a bad price for a 4k monitor. The Show on "enhanced visuals" is incredible although the 4k option looks way too choppy. But I guess it may be the effects of going from a higher FPS to a lower one. I'll check out the thread in the Show forum.

I saw that one for $499. No reviews yet is what scared me away. Guess that's the next model up from the UD68?

                    No no no lol.

The LG 27ud69P is this year's new model number.

The old one was the 27ud68P or W which they no longer sell. They are exactly the same monitor with the difference being that the 69 completely adjusts height & swivel. The 68 didn't adjust as many ways as the 69 does.

I have my own stand as I believe sbauer does as well so the older one is fine.

499 is what you're usually going to find it for at places like Best Buy. But from time to time it goes on sale so keep on the lookout if you don't wanna pay full price.

Might be stuck paying the $499. The 68P is no where to be found. I even went over to Microcenter and they don't have it either and have no idea when they are getting it in.

Only thing holding me back is I'm looking for a CPU desk to match the tv stand I have in my cave. I'm getting antsy.

Yea you aren't going to find the 68P or 68W anywhere anymore. My friend Rez looked far & wide online for weeks and nada.

He eventually just ordered the 69P.

                          Gaming Monitor discussion

Took the plunge this evening and picked up the LG 27UD69P UHD 4K Monitor from BB.

I'm sure I'll miss the HDR from my Samsung but I'll get over it. Gonna hook it up tomorrow once I get my CPU desk assembled and in place.

Thanks Boltman and others for the advice.

Glad LG fixed the wobbly stand with this years model LG 27UD69P-W.
                            Also the colors are amazing.

Yea the stand was a smart and needed move for them.

I'd have been pissed about not waiting for the better stand but I had never intended on using the stand. Ergotech makes some sweet mount arms.

                              Congrats on your purchase.

Your monitor is slanted to the right.........it isn't level.
