Re: Gaming Monitor discussion
So I finally pulled the trigger on the LG C3 42”. Coming from a 43” Bravia X85K which I was using as my monitor and gaming needs. The Bravia was great, but with the EA College football coming this year, I wanted an equal size OLED. I know guys think 42” is big but it’s really not, you will get used to it quickly. I’m excited.

Re: Gaming Monitor discussion
I’ll want an oled monitor for sure but my 1440p asus is still going strong after 5 years as my main gaming one for fps games.
I use my C2 if I want to have a pretty gameplay.
I do want to replace my Xiaomi 34 inch. It’s not great but it served me well as a ultrawide monitor for content and work.
I’m going both oled monitors for sure if replace them

Gaming Monitor discussion
I purchased an LG monitor to pair with my PlayStation 5. I’ve been surveying the internet trying to find a solution to my issue which here’s the run down…
LG 32gr93u-b (4k 144hz) uhd ips
Can’t get it to run at 120 hz on 4k
It’s still silky smooth and I have no early issues with the monitor.
I’ve tried a few YouTube presets on the ps5 settings aspects and I’ve also cycled through my monitors osd menu and tinkered with settings (which I revert to default if nothing has changed)
Additional context yes it hdmi 2.1, per rtings it has full bandwidth can works with consoles at 4k 120..
I have 2 - hdmi 2.1 cables one with the monitor one with the ps5 neither garner different results

Here are some steps to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Verify HDMI Cable:
- Ensure both HDMI cables are genuine HDMI 2.1 certified cables. Sometimes, non-certified cables, even if labeled as HDMI 2.1, can cause issues.
2. Check PS5 Settings:
- Go to `Settings` > `Screen and Video` > `Video Output`.
- Set `Resolution` to `2160p`.
- Set `4K Video Transfer Rate` to `Automatic`.
- Enable `HDR` and `120Hz Output`.
3. Check Monitor Settings:
- Ensure the monitor is set to the correct input for HDMI 2.1.
- In the monitor's OSD menu, go to `General` > `Game Adjust` > `Game Mode` and set it to `Gamer 1` or `Gamer 2`.
- Make sure `FreeSync Premium Pro` is enabled.
- Ensure `HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Color` is turned on.
4. Update Firmware:
- Check if there is a firmware update available for the monitor and update if necessary.
5. Test on Different HDMI Port:
- If the monitor has multiple HDMI 2.1 ports, try using a different port.
6. Reset PS5 Video Settings:
- Restart your PS5 in Safe Mode and select `Change Video Output`.
- Select `Change Resolution` and choose `2160p`.
7. Game-Specific Settings:
- Ensure the game you are playing supports 120Hz at 4K. Some games might not support this combination and may need to be set to performance mode or similar settings to enable higher frame rates.
8. Factory Reset:
- Perform a factory reset on both the PS5 and the monitor to clear any possible conflicting settings.
If after all these steps the issue persists, there might be a deeper compatibility issue, and contacting LG or PlayStation support could provide further insights.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Gaming Monitor discussion
Also may seem unlikely but did you double check you received the correct monitor? My friend went through a similar issue as he bought a 1440p 144hz LG monitor from Amazon. He didnt realize he purchased from a third party seller who had placed a different monitor inside the box until he asked me for help troubleshooting why he couldn't select 1440p 144hz on PC.Comment

Re: Gaming Monitor discussion
Got my first OLED the other day.
Went with an Alienware 34” Ultrawide. Was able to find a pretty great Best Buy open box deal in the next town over.
Gotta say, I’m floored. It’s one of the most significant gaming upgrades I’ve ever made. Not to mention having actual HDR on a PC monitor…
