Thanks... I should have noticed that lol. I decided to go with the LG monitor. Picking it up from Best Buy after work and will probably get a lot of game time with it this weekend.

HDR should not be a reason to buy or not buy if you spending less than 1200 dollars for a monitor. None of those do real HDR

The LG is the best 4k console monitor right now. Nothing compares.

I have the same monitor and just play in 4k SDR on my Xbox x. The HDR is fake and looks worse than SDR and looses contrast too when you enable HDR. Great gaming monitor

I am just blown away by gaming on PC

Playing Madden at ultra settings 1440p with FPS ranging from 135 to 165 is amazing and feels like a different game then console. Zero blur trails and smooth like silk movement

Same for 2K20, I am playing at 1440p ultra settings and fps never dips below 155fps and tops 165fps

so you disable the HDR from the X right? Because I don't see you can disable from the monitor itself.

HDR is never an option on tv or monitors, it must be done from pc or console

At some point, you’re really yielding diminished returns with frame rate. As big of a frame rate guy as I am, 144 Hz may be the needed limit in my lifetime.

Spent all weekend gaming on the LG montior. Between playing The Witcher 3 and NHL 20, I can definitely see a big difference from playing on a regular TV. Loving it and won't be able to go back now. Anyone looking for a fairl inexpensive monitor to game on then I highly suggest the LG 27UL600.

Thanks for all the recommendations. Once again, the knowledge here at OS is outstanding and glad I can rely on that knowledge when needed.

Probably too bright for me sitting close to a monitor, I'd have to turn brightness down. I have the Asus PG27UQ and even at 1000 nits some screens make me squint. the 1153 dimming zones is nice though, the PG27UQ has 380ish so you can see some glow around bright on dark stuff, more zones would def help. I'd check this out if they eventually have a 27'' version as 32'' is way too big for a desk imo, especially when I am running a 3 monitor setup.

Is there really that much of a difference with monitors that are 85hz-144hz in general?

I can understand going from 60 can be a big difference, but is 100hz just negligible to 144hz or is it worth the extra bread?

100hz is fine but there is definately a big difference from 60 to 144hz

When I game on my 165hz monitor and some games dip to 100 to 110fps I can feel a bit of the blur on movements and a bit slower than when going 144 and up to 165hz

is something that you might think 100 feels the same as 144hz or 165hz but you will notice the difference when you take away 165hz and play all the time at 100hz
