144hz on pc is superior to 60hz but i cannot play at 1080p anymore

    1440p 165hz gsync for 500 dollars FTW

I went a little overboard when I built my pc a few months back. Did 1440p with 165hz. It is amazing.

Yup....Right now I am playing modern warfare on pc using controller vs console players only and while they are at 60fps and sub I am at max settings with 1440p gsync doing 145 to 165fps in every map.

Once the new 3080ti comes out I will sell my 2080ti and hopefully be able to do 4k 144hz in most games or 120hz

If you want hdr on a monitor you need to spend at least 1100 dollars as anything below that is not real or even decent hdr

The LG UK650 is a great 4k SDR monitor.

Yup... the overwhelming majority of these monitors are 8 bit panels and doing fake HDR. I put it to the test and they actually look a lot better in SDR and the HDR on these monitors looks washed out compared to SDR..

                Just remember this

To get good hdr in a monitor you need peak brightness to hit 1000 nits or more and it must be have full array local dimming.

If it has neither of those it is fake hdr

Did you end up getting a new monitor from the choices you listed?

I have been looking in to the BenQ 2870. I don't do a lot of heavy gaming I probably play at most 8 to 10 hours a week or every couple of weeks.

If anyone has any recommendations for an inexpensive 4k monitor just for basic gaming, I'd greatly appreciate. I just have a PS4 Pro.

Finally have my first legit PC game in Modern Warfare, and played it on my Alienware 1900R (34.1" curved, 3440 x 1440, 110 FPS overclocked). It's not eye-opening for me (not much is these days anymore), but it is clean and very good looking. I have no complaints whatsoever, although since it's not a 21:9 AR it has the absolutely smallest of black bars on either side of the screen. No biggie.

That is the best you going to get at 4K on the cheap under $300. Everything else going to be around $400 and up.

What do you consider inexpensive? For consoles the best 4k monitor is the LG UL600 from best buy...Many times they go on sale for 350

excellent monitor for consoles...has 2 hdmi 2.0 and a display port.

It is so hard to play games on consoles after going full time pc in the last year. I love bloodborne on ps4 and tried to play it again but the horrible frame pacing along with 30fps was hard to take.

I cant even enjoy 60fps any more since I game at 1440p 144fps in most any game with my rig at max settings.

Playing Madden 20 at 144fps is a whole new game and same for 2k.

Thanks for the recommendation. I think its either between the LG or the BenQ one that Gotmadskillzson recommended. Luckily I have a 10% off coupon from Best Buy to use but it looks like I can only use it on the LG, so that might be the winner.

Is there any major difference between the LG 27UL600 and the Samsung UE590 28''? Is one better than the other? The Samsung is the cheaper option at the moment and from best I can tell the only major difference is one less HDMI port, but didnt know if anyone recommends one over the other?

The Samsung monitor don't have HDR. That is the major difference.
