Some may have seen me posting in the Steam topic. After seeing an Asus Rog pg279q for $500 on Newegg I decided to jump on that immediately. I'm going from my current Asus vs278q-p which is a 27 inch 1080p 60hz TN panel monitor. I'm excited for the 144hz, G-Sync, ISP, and the 1440p! My 970 may not do as well at 1440p while I have it for a bit, but I'll live with having to set some games down in detail until the new cards are announced this year.... hopefully they are, haha.

That’s the exact monitor I have and it’s actually 165hz. Enjoy man it’s an absolutely stunning monitor. It’s so awesome that I forgo playing on my ultra wide often to play on it because it’s that much smoother and my gpu can push more frames.

Ahhh I can’t wait to get back home and play on it. Been away for more than a month and been missing my rig

I got it a day early, thanks FedEx! This monitor is absolutely amazing. 1440p is noticeably better, more than I would have imagined. Now, 165hz, these framerates.... they are unreal. It looks smoother than real life. I love it already, haha.

Welcome to the club! I have the Viewsonic version of 27", 1440p, 144hz and it's glorious!

I'm loving it. I'm also surprised my 970 is holding up so well. Even at 1440p it's getting a consistent 45ish fps in Watch Dogs 2 at a high/very high mix. I don't know if I'm crazy or it is the gsync, but even the 45 fps feels so much smoother. It could be the lack of screen tearing making it seem that way.

I’m looking at getting back into console gaming on a monitor, I’ve seen a lot of talk on here about the LG 27UD69P as a solid choice, I’m looking at the LG 27UK650-w if anyone has any experience using that monitor feedback would be much appreciated

Oh ok, not the best source for pc gaming, was going to say if consoles then anything over 60hz is waste of money as that’s all consoles can do at this point as I’m sure you know.

My vote goes 1440p at 144hz. I played with 240hz and its great but you can barely tell the difference imo. I just think 4k on a small screen is not worth it and the extra frames you get with 1440p and 144hz is flat out amazing, the best of both worlds.
