Picking up my Asus Arog PG348Q today, so excited! I still have to wait for parts for my rig to come in though but will hook this up to my old imac to see how it works.

Edit: This thing is a beast and it is massive. It's actually too big for my desk and will need to get an desk mount for it.

It is amazing and a whole different world. I'm not able to really test as i only have it connected to my old imac but playing bluray on 21:9 with no black bars is fantastic.

How does work for games? Do you have black bars on the sides, for games that don't support 21:9?

I don't know yet, just ordered the parts for the pc but this came first. I know for sure if i use a ps4 or xbox the bars will show up on the side. I know that the games I bought for the pc support 21:9 so will have to wait about a week before everything comes in.

There are a lot of games that will render in 21:9, main issue for some games is if the UI will scale properly. Some games just stretch the UI, and that doesn't look good. Dragons Dogma and No Man Sky(at release anyway) were examples of games like that.

Some games have 3rd party "fixes" to resolve those issues though.

Just got a blessing for a 34" GSync monitor. How's that PG348Q treating ya? What did you upgrade from? I've got a 1080p 34" my wife will inherit (she's using the 29" version). Did you consider one of the other alternatives?

I love this thing, it's the best monitor I ever seen personally. I can't comment on gaming yet since I haven't gotten all the parts to my rig. In the Philippines it takes 10 days or so to order stuff to my island. I'll give an update, since I only been able to connect it to my imac via display port going on 1080p.

I'll have a Gigabyte 1080ti card that will test out this monitor coming in.


I upgraded from using 2 Samsung curved 27" monitors ( LC27F390FHEXXP) They were okay but it sucked for gaming, a lot of ghosting when I played games like 2k.

I considered the x34 Predator because its the same panel but after seeing reviews of the build quality compared to the Asus, I decided to spend a little more on the Asus. The quality is top notch, the stand is a beast. Also another deciding factor was the menu controls uses a joystick instead of button below the monitor like the x34.

I hate monitor buttons so that was a big negative to me on the x34.

As far as video editing, photo editing, it just makes it so much easier and the IPS panel is just beautiful.

There will be a new Asus monitor coming out that is 35" TN panel, 200 hz, with HDR support. You might want to read up on that when that comes out and it might discount the PG348Q.

Yeah, kinda expecting that to be a $1800+ panel. The ultrawides are niche enough I'm not sure how much they'd really push the price down.

Yeah you're probably right. I'm excited to see what 100 fps at 1440p is gonna look like once the rig is built. Just been console gaming only and my friend keeps telling me mind will be blown.

Bought it yesterday just to see how it compares to my 65 4k tv. Does anyone else noticed ghosting with this monitor? I notice it a lot with FIFA and some other fast paced games.

I do notice it a little bit when playing the show but not too much. I've played Horizon zero dawn and Forza and don't see it at all in those games.
