Re: I have a confession to make: I don't finish games..
Sports games were a problem for me as well. Tecmo, NFL 2K, Madden and NBA 2K11 were all heavily played over everything else. I don't even know how many classics and great games I missed out on because of sports games.
After Madden NFL 13, I decided that I was done investing heavily into sports games. Skipped Madden 25, Played Madden 15 for a few days, skipped Madden 16 and 17.
I realized that I would much rather spend my time playing different games in different genres as opposed to playing a sports game over and over again.Comment

Glad I'm not the only one with this problem but it's a problem that I love having. The following is what's in my rotation currently with no completion in sight.

Re: I have a confession to make: I don't finish games..
Yea got so many games I'm playing constantly. I have been loving every minute of Forza Horizon 3. Been playing Madden 17, FIFA 16, NBA 2k16, Tomb Raider that was a GWG a little while ago and Fallout 4. And I'm still gunna get Gears 4, NBA 2K17, FIFA 17 and EA Access (So I'll have a ton of games to play with that).Comment

Re: I have a confession to make: I don't finish games..
I don't always finish games either. But that's fine, I buy older used games almost exclusively, so if I didn't finish the game - at least I didn't pay much for it. Which is also why I usually buy open world games, so I can mess around and have fun for hours without even advancing the story.
I don't even buy 2K new anymore. 2K15 is the newest 2K I own. I'm going to keep it this way (especially with new games cost $79.99 + tax here). My Specs:
ZX Spectrum
CPU: Z80 @ 3.5 MHz
GPU: Monochrome display
RAM: 48 KB
OS: Sinclair BASICComment

Re: I have a confession to make: I don't finish games..
To go off your original post ODogg i have to say i dont even like certain games i DO end up getting that arent sports or racing related.
i got Mad max which many consider to be a sleeper hit and somewhat under appreciated. i Loved mad max Fury Road but the game? Bored in about an hr. Wont ever play it again.
Then there's Sunset Overdrive which is touted as another sleeper hit and very fun to some. Though the game IS graphically cool etc. I played about an hr and got bored.
I made the decision to get both Mad max and Sunset when i much rather would have gotten a Forza 6 porchse pack or even Asseto Corsa.
I've just come to realize that if a game isnt steeped in somewhat of a realism i dont care for it.
I'll say this GTA yeah ok i adore that but thats because the outside environments make it feel liek a real place. Heck even Second Son was cool but thats because of the Seattle settings. I dont care for the gameplay in these types of games becaus ei know ultimately i canwalk around in these pseudo enviromenets steeped in some kind of realism.
I'll get WD2 BECAUSE its San fran not because i can hack three different ways from tuesday etc.
So i rarelt finish games. I first look at graphics and see if i want to stay in the world its depicting etc. If i dont like it or gameplay gets too difficult even to advance i could care less.
I rather get to the fourth quarter of NBA 2k17 then get to the 4rth chapter in uncharted say....Brand New Tomba Slider sets ready for Next Gen Versions of NBA,Madden and Fifa Stay Tuned...Comment

Re: I have a confession to make: I don't finish games..
Fellas, there IS hope lol.
This weekend I finished Fallout 3. Not the DLC, or New Vegas, or Fallout 4, mind you. You know, the one from flipping 2008???
I have a HUGE backlog but I've pared it down to only games that I actually care about. Up next is ....(don't laugh)....
Zelda: A Link to the Past on flipping SNES. I loved the first two games and never finished the 3rd one. I got an RGB/SCART converter last month so my OG SNES looks fantastic on my 4K television so I think I'm going to knuckle down and get that one done...wish me luck...Last edited by BobbyColtrane; 11-22-2016, 05:41 PM.Comment

Re: I have a confession to make: I don't finish games..
This reminds me I need to start the newest Tomb Raider I started a year ago. I'm as far as the mining area. I don't get how my friend can play games like this and find every single relic or weird item in the game.Comment

Re: I have a confession to make: I don't finish games..
I remember getting one of the COD games...a WWII shooter for the PS3 I think. I was so psyched because I LOVE WWII stuff and shooters. Turns out that I never got out of the training you had to go through before you went to battle! I am 60 now and I think I was in my early 50's when the game came out and since I did not grow up with a controller in my hand I was too uncoordinated to do any damage or even make the cut.
Now, that's embarrassing!!

Re: I have a confession to make: I don't finish games..
I still own Zelda: Link to the Past on SNES complete in box. The only Zelda game I ever played actually. Beat that game back in 8th grade. Was great though.
