It seems cool. Could definitely tell I was gonna get sick if I played it for a while though.

Some VR News coming out of Vegas for CES 2018 which runs all week.
Sony is scheduled to showcase its new electronics later this evening but sadly, I don't think there will be any news on PS VR. Well, lets hope there's something.
NextVR is making its VR recordings of live events feel much more realistic
Spoiler
NextVR, a platform that specializes in recording sports, concerts, and other live events for viewing later in virtual reality, announced today at CES that it’s adding a new technology to make its recordings feel much more realistic. Called six degrees of freedom, or “6DoF” for short, the addition will make it so users of NextVR’s app can experience events with more freedom of movement than before.
With 6DoF, you can move forward, backward, left, right, up, and down, allowing you to shift your perspective in a pre-recorded scene as if you were experiencing it live. You can crouch down, move your shoulders, or even take full steps while the underlying technology behind the software used to edit the video takes into account the natural shift in perspective those movements involve.
HTC Vive Pro revealed at CES 2018, better resolution and audio
Spoiler
The new model, which will sit above the currently HTC already available on the market, will feature an improved resolution and high-res audio support, but still work with all the current Vive content already available.
The new Vive Pro will also improve the audio experience as well. The Vive Pro will feature an in-line amplifier, dual microphones for clear communication and audio. That move will mean better noise cancellation for people talking while other's noisly watch.
A HTC Vive 2/Pro has been touted since late 2016.
The original HTC Vive stays on the sale. Those looking HDM-Only upgrading will be available later this quarter, however those that want a fresh version of the new device, will be able to but it later in the year.
The company also announced the Vive Wireless Adapter. Available this summer, it will allow PC users to ditch the wires completely. Details are still very scant at the moment, but it's been built using Intel's WiGig spec and offer 60GHz band to minimize performance.
TPCast Announces New ‘Plus’ Version of Wireless VR Adapters for Vive and Rift
Spoiler
TPCast, manufacturer of wireless adapters for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift systems, has announced an upgraded version of its eponymous wireless system called TPCast Plus. According to the company, the new Plus version, which will be demonstrated at CES this year, offers several hardware and software improvements, including a new mounting system that supports hot-swap batteries.
According to the press release provided to Road to VR, the new adapter “supports automatic restart, wireless interference reduction, and automatic wireless channel detection that substantially improves the stability of the wireless VR connectivity.” It claims the restart time has also been ‘dramatically decreased’. The performance of the connectivity appears to be unchanged, with the same ‘2K resolution per eye’ at 90 fps with sub 2ms latency.
An improved integration with the headset is achieved with a “built-in backplane” that incorporates the battery and wireless adapter into a single area, while supporting a hot-swap battery. A 4-cell battery charging cradle, is said to be part of a series of complementary products that enhance TPCast Plus product family. Production of the existing TPCast solution continues, and the expected release date for the TPCast Plus, which will be available for both HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, is in “the first half of 2018.”

Re: PS VR
While some of us wait in anticipation for Ace Combat 7's date announcement and needing a simple VR flight simulator fix, Ultrawings is getting high praises in the VR community. The Devs just released a patch yesterday that helped eliminate many of the early bugs.

Apex Construct - Feb 20th
Hello, my name is Erik Odeldahl. I am the Creative Director at Fast Travel Games, a VR games developer founded in 2016 by former creators of franchises such as Battlefield & Mirror’s Edge.
Little over two months ago, we announced our debut title called Apex Construct – an action/adventure game built from the ground up for VR that we believe delivers an immersive and extensive experience unlike anything available today.
The reception from VR gamers following our announcement was extremely strong and positive, so I am happy to finally be able to reveal that the game is releasing for PS VR worldwide on 20th February, and that PlayStation Plus members will get a 20% discount when pre-ordering!
If you haven’t heard about Apex Construct before, let me recap a bit: The game is set in a strange future where merciless robots prowl the world as a result of mankind’s reckless experiments. As the last human alive, you will need to explore this world to uncover its secrets while defending yourself from the synthetic creatures, utilising an upgradable bow, arrow & shield setup. Progressing through the adventure, you will gradually reveal what actually happened to the world you once knew – and what your role is in the drawn out conflict between two powerful AIs.
First 8 mins of game play

Re: PS VR
After trying out my old man's new Oculus Rift and gaming PC, I decided to take the plunge and get the PS VR. I was expecting a watered-down experience but I think it holds its own against the Oculus. I've been enjoying it immensely but just a couple of days ago I started to get some tracking issues.
Without having changed anything about my setup, the VR world started to wobble back and forth as if I was on a cruise ship in rough seas. This is the new headset that came with the Skyrim bundle. I've tried changing camera position, moving closer and farther away, different lighting combinations - nothing. Either I hadn't noticed anything in my first few days of the honeymoon period or something's just started to go awry here. Anybody here experience this and was able to fix the issue?Comment

I've read many times on the social networks that seems to have lots of traction regarding your issue and new lighting entering the room seems the most popular one.
Examples I've read;
- You moved your large potted plant away from the window.
- Seasonal changes; Angle of sun comes into room
- You've placed a new picture, especially one that may illuminate, lighting source objects in your room (think anything new from Christmas)
--Angle of your PS Camera is another option to look at.
Once you've found what it is. Recalibrate your headset and controllers
Good LuckLast edited by Picci; 01-12-2018, 09:50 PM.Comment

WWE Locks Up with NextVR
Spoiler
Announced in Variety, NextVR will be bringing their considerable experience to broadcasting in VR to WWE and will be working alongside its television broadcasting team to supply and rig 10-12 cameras throughout the arena to provide a definite virtual broadcast for wrestling fans the world over. Cameras will even be in the ring, secreted (in some fashion) in the turnbuckles.

Re: PS VR
Hey guys! I bit the bullet and got PSVR. I mean literally. If my wife finds out how much I actually spent on this thing, she'll put a bullet in my mouth lol.
I got the bundle that came with Skyrim VR and the demo disc. Also, I already have GT Sport so there's that. I'm checking that stuff out and I downloaded the Spider Man Homecoming VR game.
Any suggestions on VR videos? All the rollercoaster videos I found in YouTube look like crap. Maybe that's just as good as live action VR gets? I expected VR videos to look a lot better. Isn't there a WWE VR thing now?
Anyone have some must play game suggestions? Definetly want to check out Batman, Star Trek, and Ghostbusters. Does Battlefront 2 have a X-Wing mission like the first one did?
Any other tips or tricks? Thanks.

Congrats on your purchase.

LittlestarVr is one of the more popular free apps you can download. NextVR just partnered with WWE recently so don't know when the channel will be out but it should be soon. You should test out both apps to get a feel.
I don't think the YouTube videos give you that roller coaster ride thrill you're seeking but I think Until Dawns: Rush of Blood is still free and that will. Roller Coaster Legends is $5 in the store and just recently came out is another option to look at.

You pretty much have and named all the top games for you to play. Super Hot, Farpoint with the aim controller bundle, and RE7 are other top options to look at. Rec Room is a hit with social groups participating with and against others in games is also free.
Dice didn't do anything in VR for Battlefront 2
Any other tips or tricks? Thanks.
Careful, when you have your headset on. You won't be able to see your wife when she comes for you from behind.

Re: PS VR
Thanks for the response. Liking the immersion so far, but kind of disappointed in the graphics. Skyrim looks like early PS3 or something. Everything's slightly blurry.
Holy crap I just played that Call of Duty VR game and almost passed out. Makes me want to play the Star Wars one but I really don't want to have to buy Battlefront 1 again just for it. Worth it?
Videos are supposed to look terrible, right? Every video app I've tried looks like it's 240p or something.

Re: PS VR
My only issue with VR (I am getting slowly better) is games with full motion like Dreadhalls and Alien Isolation still get me sick'ish after a while.
I used to get sick within 5 minutes but I at least last for about 15 minutes now.
Games that use teleporting I am fine.
Speaking of Aliens... awesome in VR and spooky.
I've let out a few yells in VR so far.. I laugh in the end because of my yelling.. but it's always a blast.
Looking forward to getting the updated VIVE this year.Joshua:

Re: PS VR
I read that my streaming quality for videos on youtube is probably crap even though I have high speed internet, so people say they download 3D VR videos off youtube and put them on an external drive and watch them in the LittleStar app on PS4 and it supposedly looks amazing? I'll try later. We'll see.
I randomly have a 3D blu ray of Tron Legacy despite never having a 3D tv so I tried watching that last night through the headset. Pretty cool. Wish there were a way to download more.
Cinemode is pretty wild. Playing Wolfenstein 2. Makes me feel like I'm at a movie theater playing lol. These days I'm less like "Jailhouse Rock" Elvis and more like "dying alone on the toilet" Elvis.Comment
