So I'm a guy who has never done any VR anything in his life. At least, not gaming anyway.

Do things appear 3D in VR? Or does it appear "flat" like a screen, although it's "all around you?"

I keep reaching out thinking I can grab stuff... so it's certainly not flat Lol

Better than any 3D movie I watched on my 3D TV (Which I don't have any longer)

In games things typically appear 3D, there is a few times such as in game menus where it flattens, sort of like if you were in a movie theater looking up at a screen (i.e. in playstation menu, some game menus and such).

The Resident Evil 7 Kitchen demo is now available on the Playstation VR via the PSN. Love to hear some thoughts with those who try it out. There’s no character movement unlike the full game though.

It's very cool from a visual point of view but has no gameplay to speak of.

Yeah the Kitchen demo is mostly a proof of concept, it's a bit creepy, jump scares were fairly predictable though, looked real good, but it was an entirely passive experience. I guess it'd be easy to mess with someone playing it and it'd creep them out, but sitting in a room by myself I wasn't really effected and jump scares usually get me pretty easily.

Saw at least 4 VR kits yesterday at BB. They seem to really promoting it as they had a huge table right when you walk in with all the accessories. Good to see this.

                      Re: PS VR

Spent a good few hours with the PSVR now & I really like the concept,it has impressed more than any new Tec that I have tried in recent years.
I like all of the current features it has to offer but would like to see some more display options.
My display has a very fine grain effect which can make the resolution even worse.
Maybe a contrast setting would help to overcome this problem or it may be an OLED issue because the PS vita has a similar problem.
The games that I like(which isn't many) all make me a bit nauseous,I was ok yesterday but had to stop playing tonight.

Played the Heist game tonight... man it was fun. Better gun play than I expected . Like I said earlier, the graphics aren't "Great" but they work because of the whole "You're In it" aspect.

Whether it was placebo or not but after I did the PS4 VR system settings for eye adjustment etc.. I did not get nauseated during the Luge game... although I did close my eyes during every jump as it always makes my stomach get that weird felling like when I was a kid and my dad would go over hills fast... Lol

                          Re: PS VR

                          There are some good tips on the forums linking to good info. One in particular for screen issues I heard about for blurry or grainy image plus other issues if you need to explore;

It is paramount that you wear the PlayStation VR headset correctly and as tightly as possible. The closer the visor is to your eyes the better the fidelity of the image.

The headband must sit tight on your head, with a tightening wheel to be clicked on the back until it is firm but comfy. Then you press the button at the bottom of the visor and bring it to your face. Make sure it is clicked in as close as possible.

If you are unsure how to do this or the image has gone blurry, press the PS button on a controller and select Adjust PlayStation VR > Adjust Headset Position from the menu. It then runs you through the same instruction wizard you will have seen when originally setting it up for the first time.

One of the games I played during the demo. I remember looking back towards my left out the car window as if it was really there, seeing one of the bodies fly by me.

Can't count the amount of times I reached out to grab something and hit my hand on something in real world etc.. then that brief second I get confused due to the brain seeing one thing and body reacting to something in real life... ..Freaky
