I couldn't even finish that article. Way too much fanboy talk in that story. Numbers could be right but doesn't surprise me that VR had low sales. Hasn't been in stores or online in weeks.

Re: PS VR
I decided against it first and foremost because including the camera and move controllers, it's basically $500 not including tax which here in NY would be around $542 total. Just no. Add in the fact that I have never been interested in any VR set simply because I see it as a gimmick that is filled with "experiences" as opposed to full VR games and I was just like no.
PSVR did outsell Rift and Vive combined I think since PSVR launched in October. The investment is simply too high for an unproven product that may die out in a year or two. Add in the fact that to get the most out of PSVR, without it being said, you really need a PS4 PRO which to me, is the entire reason for it's existence.
You're talking $900 plus tax excluding games. That's a lot of cash upfront with no guarantee that it has a productive and successful future. Personally, Sony should have waited until PS5 to launch PSVR and make it better at that time.
Sony (and for now, at a lesser extent Microsoft) are concentrating too much on VR, 4K and HDR which is sad when you think about it as games being 1080P and a locked 30FPS on consoles isn't even a guarantee. Simply, trying to move forward too fast too soon in my opinion.
REVII should help PSVR but what it really needs are full exclusives built from the ground up to have any chance. Ports or VR being tacked on isn't going to make an impact especially if it makes you sick like people have said about REVII.Comment

Re: PS VR
Must argue the not being available online statement because it literally was available just a few days ago at GameStop.com. I know because I received an email from them regarding a special offer that expires tomorrow (12/11) regarding zero interest on the GameStop Credit Card but you have to spend a minimum of $250 and PSVR was one of the things I actually looked at buying.

Only kidding Daniel.......LOL. I still love ya and your peculiar ways LOL.......
Arguing bundles that pop up here and there for specials is so different than what the general public is experiencing. When its said stock is hard to find, trust me, it's hard to find now.
Two. You spent how much for a 4K TV? I'll bet those who spent on VR only will be much cheaper than what you spent.
Three. Although VR hasn't had a killer app, they're coming. Maybe HDR drops your jaw but experiencing VR drops mine and many others.
Now be good....He knows if your good........Comment

1. PSVR isn't available now at GameStop.com but seriously, it was a few days ago and in stores as well since I would have just walked a few blocks and pick it up if I was going to buy it. Being sold out doesn't mean much though because it's all about how many units Sony is manufacturing and shipping out to retailers. Sony is obviously trying to garner demand for it especially after their initial forecast was 2.5M units sold by the end of 2016 which is 20 days away to only 750K worldwide. Let's be honest, that's a HUGE cut to their original forecasted sales. You're talking almost an 80% cut. That's insane.
2. I spent $650 on my 4KTV. PSVR is a minimum of $400, $500 if you have to buy the camera and move controllers. Let's say $400 though for arguments sake. Yeah, I spent $250 more on my 4KTV but let's be realistic...which do you think will actually last longer? I'm willing to bet that my 4KTV will still be chugging along in 5+ years while PSVR could very much be dead for years already. Investment wise, the 4KTV is by far and away the better decision. PSVR not so much.
3. Outside of Farpoint, not a single PSVR game interests me and while you say that many PSVR games will drop a lot of jaws, are you sure that's because of the games being good or the gamers playing are gagging and coughing from being sick due to playing games in PSVR? This could easily go either way.
On a related question, are there any games in PSVR (or VR in general) that allows you to play in third person? Or are they all in first person? I'm assuming the answer is no which obviously makes sense but if anything, the FPS genre is slowing down and quite simply becoming oversaturated (as are open world games) so that also affects sales simply because not everyone is going to want to play every game in first person regardless of it being in VR.
Hey, im always good. I live by one simple rule - you don't bother me and I don't bother you. That's how im always calm, relaxed and satisfied.
For those who are enjoying PSVR, I sincerely hope you continue to enjoy it.Comment

Re: PS VR
I love the VR and simply can't wait to get my pc here to get the VIVE also. For me I simply buy what I'll enjoy. Haven't got the Pro as I don't see the value with already having a PS4... that's just me. Everyone's different. With VR I get a new experience.
Just do whatever makes you happy.Last edited by Skyboxer; 12-11-2016, 05:21 PM.Joshua:

PS VR
Well my friend was quite skeptical too and he left my house last night ready to buy one.
VR is no gimmick and if people get a chance to try it they will sell a ton.
Sony needs to get demo units out everywhere and this will be huge..

Re: PS VR
That's pretty much how I was. I had zero interest in VR until trying PSVR at a Best Buy over the summer, and I was hooked. Couldn't believe how "real" it felt.
I still sort of see it as a gimmick/fad. I've only pulled it out to play a few times since I got it at launch but still have enjoyed every play through with it.
And again, after multiple plays, Pinball FX2 VR is truly an incredible experience.
I'm sitting here with SportsBar VR in my cart at $7.99 ($9.99 less the 20% email discount) but still can't pull the trigger. Seen many horror stories on it's controls even with as good as it may be. And holding out hopes that Eagle Flight or VR Worlds go on the holiday discount this week instead before this 20% coupon is ex pried.Comment

To me the game is worth $10 alone for the air hockey, it's intuitive as hell and just plain awesome. I have yet to play it online or against other people but I'll bet it'd really shine if you were to go that route.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20
