Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
Regardless, it's a shot Nintendo needed. Now they just need to make sure their games on the horizon (Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and whatever else they have coming up [not to mention the far future being the next Zelda iteration]) keep up the quality that Z:BotW has proven they can do otherwise this console will die the slow WiiU death.
However, this launch feels much different than the WiiU launch.badComment

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
Once I feel I have "completed" Mass Effect Andromeda, then I feel like I'm going to buy a Switch and make my first jump into Nintendo since N64.
Zelda intrigues me and as well as the party games but I don't know, just want to try something different.Comment

Exactly....i enjoy Nintendo games, and the Wii U just seemed stupid. Plus the wife loves Mario Kart, and i have kids. Seems like a can't miss once there's enough games out for it.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
I still don't see the huge difference between Wii U and switch. Except for the full on portable aspect. I guess I'm missing something. I was playing Zelda on the big screen last night. Decided to watch an NBA game. Got up. Grabbed my game pad, tapped the screen and boom.... I'm playing on the handheld screen.
I agree the switch is obviously a slight improvement especially if you play on the go (I don't) but if you think Wii U seems stupid what seems less stupid about the switch?Comment

I don't really game "on the go", but ability to play in bed or other rooms would be nice...don't always have the luxury of playing on the main tv.
Plus my family would enjoy Mario Kart and other kids games...when Wii U came out I didn't have kids, and wasn't going to waste money just to play a few first party games.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Hopefully they rethink the save game system by the time I grab one after a price drop and or a nice game edition bundle.Joshua:

I have zero interest in using a freaking tablet as a controller. The Wii U forced you to use the stupid table just to load games and play. I don't ant games that use the tablet as a tool, which should rarely be the case on the Switch.
If you do want to take the tablet with you and game, the switch is the console, which means you aren't streaming the game on wifi.
What nintendo did was a make a console that fit the needs of you and me. The Wii U failed to do that, and collected dust.Comment

Just to start cleaning things up in here, because I've been guilty of it too.
Let's start keeping this thread clean of Zelda stuff, and keep it more focused on the Switch and news/chatter/Q&A about the console itself.
Use the Zelda: Breath of the Wild thread for Zelda related posts.badComment

It doesn't though. I don't touch my tablet unless I want to play on it. I don't see how the Wii U tablet and a pro controller is any different than the switch and a pro controller at all. I turn my Wii U on from the console and play with a pro controller. Literally don't need to touch the tablet.Comment
