Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
I want to be excited for this, but I just can't. Zelda continues to look great and I will find a way to play it, but the lack of software kills me. Mario Odyssey didn't even do anything for me.
I can deal with the $300 launch and the expensive accessories, but I want to play more than Zelda and Mario Kart in the first 3 months.

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
My youngest son is the only one in my house that plays the Wii U and 3ds. I will get a switch just for him. I had a switch in my cart on the bestbuy website but realized there wasn't any games he would play available at launch so I decided to wait until MARIO or MARIO kart switch drops. Hoping they release a bundle with Mario kart.

I was dead-set against buying another Nintendo console, especially after they overcharged for the Wii U and then basically sent it to the glue factory only a few years later.
However, I'd be lying if I said I didn't like the concept of the Switch.
But as you pointed out, the lack of quality software at launch is a big disappointment.
Zelda looks friggin sweet, but since we already own a Wii U, we can just get it for that console.
Outside of that game, there's nothing that makes me want to get it at launch.
Hopefully it will get a few sports titles and some AAA titles to boot.
But if I were forced to bet on the future of the Switch, I think it'll end up like the Wii U.
It'll get poor software support and before you know it (2020?), we'll be reading about Nintendo's new console - which will have a gimmick, will be underpowered and have very little software support from AAA 3rd party developers.Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
I will still probably try and get a pre-order in somewhere because Zelda looks that amazing.
My feeling is that the Switch, for me, will probably be used to play more older games than any potential new ones. With the handheld capability that isn't such a negative thing, but that presentation last night was like a cold shower.

People constantly saying Nintendo better have enough stock for launch and then saying it's a bad thing preorders are still available? Lol..

Yeah. It makes sense. People know Nintendo pretty much always run out of stock. So pre orders still being around could mean they botched this launch.Comment

I'll wait until it's $199 and has actual, tangible games worth buying, if that ever happens. Zelda looks pretty cool but not a game changer.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
I'm with you. Nothing in the launch lineup that excites me (though I am not surprised). As far as sports goes, all I heard is FIFA and 2K18. Since I don't give a fig about soccer or basketball, not good for me. I love the concept of the Switch, but without games, there is no reason for me to buy it. I understand they are trying to appeal to their target audience, the ones who love Nintendo IP (and judging from some of the comments here, it looks like that is well-received). Just not for me.Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
I really wanted to get this device and stayed up to watch the reveal last night.
Big time disappointment. I already have a PS4 and XBox One and can't justify to myself spending $300 to get it at launch when there are no games that really entice me. I'll come around once Super Smash, Mario Kart and Mario come out. It looks like they're banking on people buying "because they're Nintendo and it's got Zelda" but Zelda was never a system seller to me.Favorite Teams:
