HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Sad but most likely true. Doesn't matter anymore though. Best Buy only has it for shipping and since im not 100% all in, I figured that it's better to take a wait and see approach. Plus, as much as I want to play Zelda, it's literally three days after Horizon and four days before Wildlands and Nier so definitely better to wait.

Also, it sounds like in order to charge those Joy Con controllers, you're required to purchase a separate "grip" for $30 that has the USB charging port on it where as the one that comes with the console doesn't. The $300 + $70 for the Pro controller + $48 for Zelda + tax and it's like, UGH.

I really wanted to get back into gaming and loving Nintendo but seriously, they make it so damn difficult, unappealing and expensive. Oh well.

I love the idea of this thing, but not sure I like the execution. It also seem like this needed more time in the oven, but I guess it's the mid point of delaying Zelda and rushing the hardware.

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017

Yeah I just don't understand rushing this. They could've pushed it back two months, maybe three to double or triple (maybe, strictly speaking hypothetically) their launch games. I get it's the lull in gaming time, but there is several big game releases situated on both ends of the game. I have mine preordered simply because I don't trust Nintendo to have enough systems in the wild around Christmas time, and depending on the Scorpio, would rather spread out console purchases.)

It's just odd for them to rush for a release date that isn't necessary. I'd understand if this were August and it was dropping in September to try and beat the gift giving holidays, but the spring for gaming is notoriously slow. Rushing it out to a minuscule launch lineup is just perplexing. The business side of me simply doesn't understand it. Nintendo had nothing to lose and everything to gain and somehow managed to tread water.

Same. Im holding off. Mario Kart 8 is scheduled to come out on April 28th I believe..Hoping for a Mario Kart 8 bundle to come out. If it does, Ill preorder the bundle. As I mentioned before, this will be for my youngest son as he is the only one in my house that loves and plays Mario anything. I do not see any point for me to get one at launch as none of the launch titles are anything he wants to play. He is playing the Wii U daily.

I said **** it and preorder the console. Gamestop has consoles without the bundle available for preorder. There arent any games that I'm interested in other than Zelda at launch but worse case scenario I can sell the console at a profit at launch.

As much as I'd like to jump day one, I won't be. Currently building new PC which will be primary system.
Once that's all done I'll look into it and hopefully by then some cool bundles will be announced.

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017

Preordered at Walmart. I may likely cancel or let it lapse come release date, or wait a couple years down the line.

Highly disappointed motion controls has trickled down to the switch. Understandable as to why, but I still hate it. The first two motion control infused games were a complete pass. Zelda, Mario, and what looks to be F-zero looks appealing (if no motion controls are necessary).

Love the handheld concept, but how much time can one really get out of it away from the power outlet?

Hype meter down to 2% (solely based on seeing motion controls implemented). Prior to presentation 99%.

Something I don't remember hearing last night, what's the deal with digital games? Will we be able to the buy the games like Zelda, Mario, etc as digital downloads or is everything a cartridge?

I know it has a microSD card slot, right? Is that where you'll have to put games? only one slot? So anything downloaded comes out when you play a game? or is there a separate game slot?

What's really hard is how to sell this on family right now. If you're not into Splatoon, you don't have many family/kid friendly options....a Mario Kart, or party game, or something would be better....I guess they figure that's Splatoon? I dunno...

I believe there is a microSD slot in addition to the game slot.

As for the motion controls I like the inclusion. The Wii was clunky, but still fun to me. If the controllers are as lightweight as they look then the motioning should be pretty fun for games like ARMS.

Yes, according to this there is a game slot and the microSD slot, plus 32 gb of internal space: http://www.polygon.com/2017/1/13/142...een-resolution
