Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017

Ok someone help me out here, I've been seeing different dates for games and what is a launch title and what isn't. So forgive me for asking but outside of Zelda what are the launch titles?

EDIT: I think I answered my own question.

    Zelda
    1-2-Switch
    Just Dance 2017
    Skylanders
    Super Bomberman R

That is what I seen listed as launch titles. I'll be picking up Zelda and Super Bomberman R

I have a Wii U but I'll still get one for Zelda and Mario.

Being able to use the Switch out and about though is of zero interest to me. I only game at home so I only want a home console. When I want to be portable, it's not that much additional effort when playing something like 2k on Xbox, to grab the Surface Pro and a controller, kick stand it, unpause and you're gaming again.

First, the motion controls are optional, and if you don't want to use them, just attach the joy-cons to the included grip and use it like a controller.

Second, while everyone is entitled to their opinion, I'm guessing that you didn't play many first-party Nintendo games on the Wii that made use of the motion controls. Skyward Sword made perfect use of the motion controls, and demonstrated that motions controls were anything but a horrible fluke. In fact, I hope that the control scheme for the Switch on Breath of the Wild is similar to Skyward Sword, because slashing the Wii controller to simulate swinging a sword was awesome.

Be sure to fully look into Super Bomberman R because from impressions, those who played it said that after a while in order to advance in the game, it requires you to pay via microtransactions. I could be wrong on that but that's what was said about it from those who played it this past Friday. I hope that it doesn't because it's actually a good franchise from back in the day but at the same time, it's Konami so you know, I wouldn't be shocked or surprised either.

Like I always say, to each their own but motion controls simply isn't for me. Thankfully, Daniel Bloodworth from Easy Allies (formerly of GameTrailers) was in NY this past Friday and played Zelda and said the PRO controller felt great to not only hold but also when playing Zelda so if/when I purchase a Nintendo Switch, it's PRO all the way!!!

I know I'm in the minority, but I'm actually happy with the amount of games Nintnedo is releasing at launch. I constantly complain about my backlog and not having enough time to game across multiple consoles.

Well, with the Switch, that won't be a problem. I can focus on strictly the new Zelda game, and then bop over to the PS4 when I want to play some NHL, NBA 2K and Madden. I like that, and shouldn't have a problem starting and finishing games on the Switch.
              Currently Playing:
              MLB The Show 25 (PS5)

I've read a few different impressions on the game but haven't seen anything mentioning that you must use micro transactions to progress through the game.

I've seen where you have the option of spending gems that you earn by playing the game but nothing mentioning micro transactions.

                Either way I'm getting it.

I don't see how having some legit worries about this is being a Debbie downer. Wii u did not sale well and there has been a lot of negativity about the switch like ever where on the internet you look mostly about is price and its games. When during the first year you only have 2 big games in Zelda and Mario and one being on wii u so really only 1 big game on the system how can you not worry. I love Nintendo but if these does wii u numbers that is most likely it for Nintendo and making systems. Yes I know that Nintendo has a lot of money but no matter how much money someone has they don't like to lose it and if this does like wii u numbers then it is going to be at the point where they are better off not spending all the money it takes to make a system and just do games instead and I do not want to see that. I am really hoping this does well.

I don't really care for motion controls but wii u used them a lot less then wii and I think that is part of why I considered wii u a better system then wii. With that said I loved the motion controls in SWS but yet a lot of people hated them for some reason.

What I read said that when you run out of lives in the story mode, you have the option of spending gems, that are earned during gameplay, and retrying from your current stage. If you choose to not spend the gems, or don't have them, then you restart the world over.

I still haven't seen anything related to the fact that you must spend money or gems to progress through stages of the game.

Cannot you not have the joy-cons split and basically melt into the couch like a blob with the controllers in each hand?

Pro controller has a gyro in it for motion controls.

Saw an article talking to Reggie about the pack in game and it was purely price that kept it out. They wanted to be 299, so to keep it there and not lose money they had to "give consumers an option on which game to pick" instead of raising price I guess.

The way I understand it is you'll be able to use the joycons without using motion controls, but I could be wrong. I enjoy some motion controls, but like others here, it's not the way I prefer. If joycon is all motion control, I'll definitely be buying a Pro Controller or two.
