Sorry one more question because I'm still confused.

What are the SD cards doing then if the hardware is saving the data?

I'm sure I'm confusing something but it sounds like the console holds data, what is the size of this HD?

The console has 32GB of on board memory. Saves are about 64MB each. I'm all digital so my games are on my SD card.

      Thatnhelp?

Haven't played a single player only game since Skyrim. Zelda doesn't have multiplayer, right?

You think Nintendo, who is selling their system at $300, should include a $60 game that everyone purchasing the system is going to buy separately and an extra $70 controller.

The system may cost too much to you, but the fact that so far it is outselling the Wii suggests that Nintendo did not overprice the system at all.

Were Zelda and the pro controller included, the system would be sold out everywhere with pre-orders for the next shipment also sold out at major retailers. Instead, the Switch is sold out everywhere with pre-orders for the next shipment also sold out at major retailers, and in addition Nintendo has made a ton of money from separate sales of Zelda and the pro controller. It would have been foolish for Nintendo to bundle those two in with the system at the $300 price point.

The same would hold true if the system were priced at $249.
Agree with this but with two differences. First, I think that 12 Switch should have been packed in with the console simply because it appears to be like Wii Sports and could have helped the console take off even more as opposed to trying to rip consumers off $60 to buy the game. Second, I think that with or without 12 Switch, the console should have been $200 at launch. Unless Nintendo drops the price in the Fall which would also be bad due to alienating those who just spent $300+ on it, $200 would have been a far better idea in the short term AND the long term.

If Mario releases this fall, I see 2017 as Nintendo's year but possibly all downhill once 2018 hits because if both of their two biggest franchises are released within six or months of each other, what else would Nintendo have left for the long term future of the console? And this doesn't even take into consideration if there's no third party support which is definitely a possibility.

Back to the $200 price tag, my reasoning for it is that come this fall, im fully expecting the PS4 Slim and Xbox One Slim to be $200 with a packed in digital game with PS4 Pro being $300 with Horizon digitally and Scorpio to be $400 at launch.

At $300 and being severely underpowered as well as other problems, the only true positive would be the ability to play the games on the handheld but once the novelty wares off and especially once Zelda/Mario hype subside, then what?

Add in the fact that Nintendo loves to create demand with hardware shortages which could end up backfiring and seriously, after Mario, I wouldn't be surprised if Switch declines in sales and well, games.

Of course, it will all depend on what Nintendo does but if right now and launch is any indication, it doesn't look good in my opinion. Just have to wait and see what Nintendo does in the weeks and months to come.

One thing that they should definitely be doing is fixing their hardware for when Zelda is docked as it appears the frame rate issues could be the result of their firmware update. If true, Nintendo needs to solve this problem as quickly as possible because not only does this hurt Zelda and those who want to play it on their TV but also, kind of defeats the point of having the system overclocking when games are docked.

When the novelty wears off they bundle. They consider themselves a premium brand a la Apple, it doesn't need to be a break-even day 1 to sell more hardware, they've already sold everything they can make.

Not my preference, price point made it easy for me to pass and not buy it blindly (more interested in later titles, not Zelda), but the demand largely was there, even if it took most of the weekend to fully sellout.

It's not like putting twice as many on shelves was an option, with a global launch.

Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017

I just finished playing on the switch for the two last hours, crazy. I love my one s , but man I played this more then I have my Xbox in a long time. I haven't even used the doc yet, not even hooked up yet.

Playing Moblie is so refreshing. Zelda is really a great game. Also I just bought Fast rpm tonight, game is so fast on screen and the graphics are pretty sweet, play in the rain and you will see what I mean. I didn't think I'd like it this much thus far, I'm enjoining it.

Here's good news from neogaf via wsj...

Nintendo is doubling their planned production of the Switch from 8M to 16M for their next fiscal year starting April 1st 2017 to March 31st 2018.

Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017

Can we get over the price complaints by people who didn't buy it to begin with? It's $300. It sold out. End of story.

And no, 1-2 Switch should not have been a pack in game. I know you want to say it's "Wii Sports" but it's not. It's a collection of 28 mini games, 27 of which require a second person. That would go over great and all the posts would be "how stupid is Nintendo for packing in a game that requires two people, what about people who are playing the system solo?" Now want to argue that 1-2 Switch should have been $29.99, fine. But I paid $50 and have got more than my money's worth. We played it for 4-5 hours last Saturday with my kids, their friends and family. It might be the best party game I've ever played, more so than Wii Sports.

But the endless argument that Nintendo priced it too high is tired and beaten to death here. Some of you passed on it for that reason, which is 100% fine and understandable. $300 is a lot to ask depending on your gaming style plus everyone had valid reasons for passing. I think any regular knows exactly who you are by now as the multiple posts telling everyone why. If it sat on shelves, we could argue but people bought it in droves. Best selling Nintendo system at launch.

I mean, I would always want something cheaper. Would have been all over a $249 bundle with a pro controller and Zelda but that's ludicrous.

Even if the PS4 and XB1 are $200 at Xmas time, the Switch will still be fine at $300. Because MS and Sony both will be pushing their new, more expensive systems anyway.

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017

I'm past the price thing. I didn't like it at first but it's selling so I can't say anything about it.

I only wish we had reviews of Zelda released sooner. Those reviews made me want a Switch but by the time we got to read them, I couldn't pre order a Switch.

And I'm not necessarily complaining. It's not like we didn't have previews and inside looks. But I needed to know if the only game (in my opinion) worth buying the console on release was going to be worth the money.

That being said, a lot of people pre-ordered anyway and decided after if they wanted the console. I made the mistake of not considering a Gamestop and dropping some money. I just thought it made more sense to pre-order online and that was never an option for me.

I learned a lot from this launch. The PS4 one was too easy for me (except on launch day when Best Buy couldn't get their lines together. Isolated incident!)

I also didn't see what the console would do for me until after release, reading comments about the versatility. Now that I have a kid coming that train ride to work would be the ideal time to game. I already know I won't be getting much gaming in on my PS4 come June.

Absolutely agree. I really think it came down to the lack of developer support. And Sony doing a poor marketing job.

Never even heard of it until now but I seen it has gotten very good reviews on Pc. What does it compare to and is it really worth $40?
