Am I alone in getting used to just gaming on the Switch itself, vs. a tv? I'm enjoying the size of the screen, and just sitting on the couch with it in my hands feels great.
I'm with you, but since most of my gaming is sports-related, I'm still on the couch with my Vita. I can't wait for football, baseball and hockey to get on the Switch, so I can make the jump!!

Only played about 10 hours of BOTW on WiiU, so I'll probably buy it on Switch and start over. Downloading Snipperclips and Puyo Puyo Tetris to play with my girlfriend also. Debating on whether or not to get MK8 since I already have it on the WiiU, but chances are I'll never turn that system on again now.
Buy MK8 on Switch and add me on your Switch friends list.

I wouldn't count on any football or hockey games on the Switch. Baseball is a possibility, but it would be limited to games like Super Mega Baseball and Power Pros.

And that's sad, the last system Nintendo had that had all around games was the N64. The Switch would be perfect for Madden and NHL. Get a game in on the train heading to work. And I know it's not all Nintendo's fault, EA has to come half way.

Might be cool if something like Mutant League Football came to Switch....but yeah, it'll be a bit before Madden comes out. They'll see how FIFA sells and go from there

I don't disagree with you, but as the installed user base increases, at some point, it has to make financial sense for EA to port at least Madden. I believe it really comes down to how many Switch units sell. Oh, and I'd be fine with Super Mega Baseball (and Mutant League Football/Hockey or other fantasy/arcade takes on the sports). I am actually surprised Super Mega Baseball is not coming to the Switch - that seemed like such a great fit for the device and the user base.

Nintendo needs to work with the third party companies like EA and 2K to get stylized, cartoon like versions of the sports games.

Especially since most folks who own the Switch own it as a supplementary console.

For example: They won't sell a dumbed down Madden that is better on the PS4/X1 but they could sell a completely different looking, cartoon/stylized or maybe cel-shaded version of Madden.

This would be playing to the Nintendo Switch's strengths.

I don't believe that to be true at all. Almost everything I read or head from Switch owners points to the exact opposite of what you propose. They want the closest thing possible to a FIFA, NBA2K and Madden for XB1 and PS4 on the Switch. And they want them on Switch because of the mobility factor.

EA Big lineup on Switch would be solid, but I don't see EA bring those back just for the Switch platform. Why we are seeing FIFA now is only because of the global reach the game has.

They can't do it, not enough horsepower. And since most people who own a switch already own a more powerful console it makes no sense to even try to do it.

EA are trying with FIFA 18. So... *shrugs*

FIFA 18 makes my point, they can't use Frostbite and it's going to look not even close to the PS4 or Xbox One version.

I don't own a Nintendo Switch yet but when I do get one I'd not buy a crappy FIFA that I can play a better version of on my PS4 or X1.

But I would definitely consider buying a different version of the same game that looks and plays differently.

Just like I'm not buying NBA Live 18 because I'm buying NBA 2K18 but I bought NBA Playgrounds.

How can you call FIFA on Switch crappy? Have you played it?

Initial reports from those that spent time with the game at E3 were positive. Just because this version of FIFA doesn't have the Frostbite engine, doesn't mean we should blindly dismiss the game. EA has dedicated resources to the game, and developed it specifically for the console, two promising signs.

As a Switch owner and a guy that likes his sports games, I'm going to be picking this up, not only to show support in the hopes that EA brings more of its games over to the Switch, but because it looks like a game that I'll enjoy playing at home or on the road.

EA is on record saying Frostbite on Switch is possible. Was stated by the FIFA 18 Switch developer and the developer for the latest Need for Speed.

Secondly, I can tell you based off feedback from other Switch owners, they are willing to pass on FIFA for PS4 and XB1 because of the portability the crappy Switch version provides.

By all means pass on future EA titles for Switch if you ever purchase the console. But don't act like a cartoonish version of their games is the better option because it's what YOU want.
