Because there are so few games is exactly why I chose Switch for NBA Playgrounds. I doubt it would get as much play on my PS4.

Its the one game that I would definitely have on the switch over the PS4

          Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Man, I love this little system. It finally showed up yesterday on my doorstep and I've put in probably 5 or so hours into Zelda. I started on the TV, then my wife wanted to watch a show so I took the tablet upstairs and kept playing. The tablet runs like a dream, and I honestly almost prefer playing it that way. It's such a cool little thing that I didn't think much of before buying the system but I feel like it's going to change the way I game. I even took it to work to play on my lunchbreak which I'll probably continue doing going forward.

I don't really have anything to say about Zelda that hasn't already been said. There is so much depth to the game that it's overwhelming, but I can't get enough of it. Unfortunately my wife started playing on her profile as well tonight so I may not get as much time with the game as I hoped .

I'll definitely be picking up the Pro Controller this weekend. I don't mind the regular controller but it's just a little too small for me.

Overall I'm definitely impressed. I can see this little console traveling with me wherever I go.

EA went from cautious to bullish on the Switch. Let's hope this leads to more titles: https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2017/...witch-support/

On the eve of nba playgrounds being launched I was all ready to buy it for the switch.

I had set aside the right amount of eshop cred etc and was going to use it towards nba playgrounds for switch

                then

the reports came the reviews started flooding in and the worst news was unveiled

NBA Playgrounds for the Nintendo switch is a lazy port

It is missing lighting from the pc ps4 and xbox one versions

it's resolution is worse in handheld mode and exhibits blurry player textures and courts

Some effects are also missing from the Nintendo switch version

all this including online being patched in.

I was all in like Cleveland for this one on Nintendo switch

BUT once I saw more gameplay comparisons I got it for ps4

                Why?

Because this game interested me beyond the fact that it was "aldo" for switch. I wanted to play the best version

On PS4 Pro the game is awesome

I messaged the developers and asked why this was the case and their response WAS a bit more uplifting. They are doing as much as they can in the first update that includes the online function also will include other fixes.

No word on controller rumble though as the fix for that is app just shutting off the rumble inside the switch menu for now

The whole reason I chose Switch for NBA Playgrounds because of so few games available for that console. I'd be less inclined to buy it if it was only on PS4 or XB1.

Playgrounds is exactly the type of game I've lobbied should be made for handheld systems. This would be perfect on the Vita.

I'm definitely getting this on the Switch. The patch sounds promising and I've heard positive reviews from a few people I trust that have played the game on the Switch.

I know it has been said before but as a parent with two young children, the Switch is amazing.

Yesterday I was off from work, and during our baby's morning nap time our 3 year old was playing with toys on her own. In the past, if I tried to fire up the PS4 she would be instantly drawn to the TV and come watch. With the Switch, I quietly put in some earbuds and got in 45 minutes of Zelda. I know this has been possible in the past with other handhelds and tablets/phones.....but to be able to play a console game with buttons, it is awesome.

Yeah, this versatility is one reason I'm interested now.

Separately, I read somewhere that NBA Playgrounds was rushed a bit because they didn't want to release in the fall when they get lost in the 2k/EA NBA releases, along with every other fall game. Doesn't excuse anything, but sounds like they'd be fixing issues that exist.

Is the Switch worth it? I'm not a Zelda person nor Mario Kart (I might be able to get into it). Just saying I can possible pick it up soon, but I want to know will there be games for it. I know NBA 2k18, but how about Madden and shooters. I like the portable aspect, but don't want to be stuck only being able to get First party games. Not looking for graphics, I got a PS4 Pro and a One S for that.

                            Honest opinion please.

Sounds like you'd enjoy NBA Playgrounds on Switch. Great NBA Jam-style game you can play portable or on the TV.

I'd wait and see what the titles you want to play actually look and play like on the Switch. No Madden yet and the only shooter is Payday 2.
