You do earn more points playing online and ranked fights are locked until you beat Grand Prix at level 4 (which can get difficult). It's a great pick up and play game.
So, single player is set up similar to Mario Kart (Grand Prix) which is what I suspected.

After E3, I went ahead and bought a Switch along with BotW and MK8Deluxe. Very excited to see how the Switch fares over the next year or so.

Vacationing in NYC this week with my 6&10 year old sons and we played the Mario Odyssey demo at Nintendo NYC. It was super cool! Even though I'm not a Mario guy, I'm looking forward to this one.

Like a lot of other ppl in this thread, Switch is now my preferred console. And I have a PS4 Pro and an Xbox One S, as well as a gaming PC in my tv room.

I'm going to buy all my games on Switch going forward, unless its something I HAVE to play like GTA or RDR2. I have a huge backlog so I'm glad to see porta of games like Skyrim.

Rumor has it that remastered LA Noire is coming to the Switch:

Interesting. I wonder if they would remaster RDR. I would think there's a bigger market for that than LA Noire.

I don't care if it looks a little worse than PS4 and X1, allow me to take the game out of my house and play it whenever and wherever you want.

Everything I hear about RDR is how much of a technical nightmare it was. I wouldn't hold my breath that we will ever see it.

Taking the Switch with me this weekend on a little getaway trip. Debating on if I'll take the Pro Controller with me, as I'll likely only be using the Switch in handheld mode, but the Pro could come in handy on flights when I can use the kickstand for the tablet.

Both would work...with how I was sitting it was nicer handheld for me, but could see the kickstand working...harder to get the right placement on that tray though, you could struggle to get perfect comfort.

On a plane you will need a kickstand to put it on the small table while you play or watch.

From my experience - Amtrak once, bus once, flight once - the kickstand on the tray wasn't a comfortable position at all. We mostly tried to use bags and whatnot to get it to sit at a playable angle because the trays are rather low and the kickstand doesn't allow you to angle it high enough. For me at least, something like this is needed, otherwise it is best to just play handheld: https://www.amazon.com/Compact-Plays...s=switch+stand

So my son's Nintendo switch won't work when docked and trying to use it with the tv. Does anyone know a solution to this?
