Finally opened it up last night and played Mario Odyssey, and man it's so damn fun. I'm so glad I got this instead of the One X.

I haven't even played Zelda yet. Mostly because I want to be able to dedicate 3-4 hours to get started with it. I feel like Mario is a game where I can play for an hour here and there when I need a quick gaming fix and have a blast.

What other must have games should I get? Was thinking about Mario Kart when my daughter gets home for winter break, but is Xenoblade Chronicles something I should consider if I love old school turn based RPGs?

Mario Kart is excellent. I would also look at Stardew Valley, Mario + Rabbids, Golf Story and Skyrim.

FIFA 18 and NBA 2k18 are also excellent.

Ugh, put on a screen protector and pretty much nailed the placement - which is a huge accomplishment for me. Then I realized there is a tiny piece of debris, for lack of a better term underneath it. So now my OCD is gonna make me take it off and have to buy a new one since I doubt it will stick right again.

I will probably get that new pinball game when it comes out. I loved the ones on PS4, but haven't played one in forever. I think being able to play it vertical will be so immersive.

I'm really impressed with how NBA 2K and FIFA play - and look - on the Switch.

Mario + Rabbids is a ton of fun.

Can't go wrong with Mario Kart.

I also recommend Lego City Undercover to folks that haven't played it yet. It is a blast.

There's also Golf Story, Snake Pass, Fast RMX and a host of other eShop games worth getting at some point.

I just ordered the pro controller from Amazon for $65. But I actually only paid $30 with a trade in.

I got a wired controller but when playing Mario there is no way to do the hat circle thing with it. I tried playing with just the joycons but just can't do it.

So I am assuming I will be able to do the hat circle thing with it since it has motion control.

I was also told a pro controller is a must for Zelda. So I'm excited to see how it goes.

Has anyone played LA Noir?

I just purchased Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 to coop with my son. He is getting into games via the SNES classic. I have some experience of the Lego games with the older Star Wars ones. Switch action on the go should be fun. Looking forward to the Holiday to settle down with the system and make some progress in Skyrim and XC2.

If it's what I think you're talking about.. you can shake the pro controller and get the hat circle. That's what I do.

Super Mario Odyssey coming from Amazon on Wednesday. Then I can wrap everything up and have Santa put it under the tree on Christmas Eve. Hard to believe Christmas is only 3 weeks away.

I can see myself doing this with Fifa, 2k, and WWE...get something cheap so I have a portable version for a few years.
