I know Nintendo games almost NEVER go down in price, a few $ here and there its been that way forever. Was interested in what 3rd party games would do as the switch aged some and so far i'm seeing the same where games are pretty much holding their release price or very close to it

I guess that’s good for them. Bad for us. Lol
I did pick up Dark Souls at lunch and started playing as a Wanderer. Really cool.
Haven’t been able to get into Zelda. Never played Zelda on any platform so I’m kinda considering getting my 30 bucks for it but I feel like I should keep it because everyone says it’s so awesome.

I would say if you feel like your going to get into playing it at some point then hold on to it, because that game will not come down in price unless you find a really off the beaten path deal somewhere, if not then it will be worth trading it in for a game you know you will play often, then later you can trade in a few you don't need anymore to get it back if you decide to get it down the roadNintendo Switch

Still playing Dead Cells exclusively anytime I turn the Switch on. Waiting to pick up Donkey Kong around the holidays and Mario Bros U Deluxe in January. Besides that I don’t know of anything coming out in the foreseeable future that interests me.Comment

Pretty much where I am. I feel like it has to be me since everyone else loves it.

It was too open for my liking. No dungeons is death to me. My Zelda has dungeons.
I just felt like there was a lot of running around and nothing to do. Which is opposite of what people that love it say about the game. So I don't know.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
Yeah, I hear ya on the pricey $25 tag. A bit much for an indie title.
I do enjoy the genre quite a bit though, so the price didn’t bother me too much. Had it since release day and have put in more time than I do a good amount of physical $60 releases. Great pick up and play type of game for short sessions when free time is sparse. Saves right where you edited the game which works perfectly in that aspect.
Decently check it out when the price hits your sweet spot.Comment

I got bored at the beginning when I realized to clear the cold shrine I needed to go all the way back to the old dude and cook a spicy meal.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
I've put close to 160 hours into Breath of the Wild, and I'm not a massive Zelda series fan. Definitely a personal preference game. Loved the art style, the scope and size of Hyrule and enjoyed the Shrines over dungeons setup. After being away from it for a few months, I definitely acknowledge how the setup and style can be a turn off for some.Currently Playing:

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
I played Zelda for just over 20 hours and quit it. I knew the game was done when the last two hours or so, I was just wandering around literally doing nothing. The shrines were good but one major negative was that some shrines were "closed" and connected to NPC's that you have to find in order to complete a quest which opens up those shrines.
Visually and art style, game is beautiful. Music was okay. Basic Zelda that I remembered from Link to the Past. Gameplay wise was a mixed bag for me. The exploration is great but isn't for me, the rune system is excellent but the actual melee combat was flawed and not good at all. Bow and arrows were good. The small things like being too hot or cold and wearing a metal shield in a lightning storm were great little details but overall, nope.
Add in no dungeons, no grappling hook (as far as I know anyway), a basic generic story of defeat Ganon, rescue Zelda and save Hyrule for the billionth time with a silent protagonist and limited voice acting throughout just completely turned me off. The cooking of food was okay but tedious as hell and the weapon breaking while not really a problem because you get so many weapons from enemies and whatnot, it was the lack of inventory space and how to upgrade that space which I found to be stupid.
Also and probably the biggest factor was this - I played Zelda AFTER The Witcher III, Horizon Zero Dawn and AC Origins. Except for Geralt's horrible one handed bow, all three of these games do everything that Zelda does simply BETTER. Add in going from realistic 4K HDR visuals to Zelda's art style and cartoony look and it's simply, nope. Game is done. At best, a 7 or an 8 at most for me personally.
The only Switch game that I have played and completed thus far is Mario & Rabbids Kingdom Battle. What a great 8.5/10 strategy RPG. Actually made me a fan of the genre. Not a big fan but a fan nevertheless. Right now, I have Octopath Traveler in my backlog and possibly Fire Emblem next year but that's 50/50.
On the positive side, I'll probably get back almost all of my money when I trade in the system to GameStop in 2020 when the next gen consoles arrive because they love doing trade in deals. Until then, it's just wasting away.Comment
