Something to be disappointed about for pretty much every class of gamer from the OLED Switch news this morning. From the lack of 4k output people were hoping for to the 720p OLED, they covered all the bases.

No improvements to battery life and joy cons are the same, so could still see drifting issues.

They did increase internal memory to 64GB, added a LAN port and made the kickstand bigger.

But yeah, it's basically a slightly bigger and better screen. Not what anyone was expecting.

I believe the battery is better compared to the regular switch with the revision they did a few years ago.

If the drift on the left joy-con is fixed, I'll get it. That issue alone is why I rarely touch my Switch anymore.

Digital Foundry said there is another Switch being developed so I will just wait for that one. Hoping for 1440p-4k resolution with HDR at least the power of a Xbox Series S.

The kickstand is what I like. Not sure what they were thinking with the tiny original one.

nintendo always releases a bunch of hardware revisions. i suspect we will see a switch pro down the line at some point. maybe they are holding off because of the chip shortage.

with these meager improvements in specs, they should sell this thing at $299.

I think I'm going to get the OLED version. With it releasing on my birthday plus the better battery life compared to the launch switch I think that makes it enough of an upgrade to justify it.

Finally played through links Awakening. It's the best game on the switch, and a top 3 zelda game, IMO.
