Yeah 2 SKUs would be a really big shift, doesn't make much sense to me.

Yeah definitely not at launch. Heck, I rather their not be a Pro model down the line. I rather them just focus on making PS5 as powerful as possible at launch that what developers only have one main model to make games for. Then if you want to make a PS5 Slim down the line, then that's cool. But, there is high chance of Pro version down the line. I just feel that hardware should be strong enough to last a whole generation. Unless they just want to top Xbox, then Pro model would likely just be storage and performance upgrades. I'm likely to skip Pro model if it just storage and performance upgrades.
Xbox seems to be taking the PC model and releasing multiple SKUs. I get that it could be convenient for the ones who has a particular console they prefer. The likely strongest, then consumer friendly model. Then whats to say 3-4 years in, then create a stronger console and another cheaper model. It does give consumers options. But would have to make developers have to account for several Xbox consoles when developing games.

This whole idea that devs need to make a game for multiple consoles is silly to be honest. All games are made on PC and ported to their respective console. Even Sony exclusives are made on pc and ported to the lower console for release.

All games going forward will scale based on your console of choice just like PC. The difference between console and pc gaming is down to pc being for hard core gamers and consoles for casuals. If you buy or build a gaming pc, chances are you are a serious gamer

If you buy a console chances are you are a casual gamer who loves to stream netflix and watch blu rays and do some light gaming. Those are the important customers for MS and Sony. The true gamers are the ones who buy day one but the bulk of the sales come from casuals on the console space

Just like phones are coming out with different versions of iphones and samsung phones it will lead to consoles doing the same. It is the wave of the future

Wasn't sure where to ask this so figured I would post it here.

Does anyone think we will get a resistance fall of man remake for the ps5? The online part could even be something they don't really have. Its been lightly rumored and it would make sense with Sony now owning the studio. I checked the Insomniac twitter page and I saw 4 pictures from the series since Feb 25th. Is that a sign are just wishful thinking ?

The multiplayer in Resistance 2 with the classes and stuff I feel like was a bit ahead of its time and would do a lot better these days. Would love to see another version of that.

I think a remaster that includes all 3 resistance plus the online for less then $60 would sell well. Sony doesn't really have a online FPS and this would already have a built in fan base. Even if you never played the games on the ps3 you might give it a try with the name recognition of insomniac now. I would buy it just for the single player part.

I wish , I'd like to see all 3 remastered as well as Killzone 2&3.

It's funny that they waited until Microsoft revealed most if not all non-game information about Series X to announce they will reveal Ps5. Also funny that Series X is slated to have the Microsoft Gamestack presentation at 11:55 PDT. So Sony will reveal info a couple hours before Xbox goes into deeper info on yesterday's news

Excited to see the news tomorrow and hopefully it will live up to expectations. Even thought I don't know what a teraflop was till I few weeks ago I need it to be atleast 11 lol.

Thinking out load I don't see it as a coincidence they are coming out with this 2 days after the xbox news. It could be wishful thinking, but I see it as they had good news to share and was just waiting to make sure before releasing it. I don't think you would quickly put out bad news.

You come out with your info and its much less powerful ? If its only a little less I could see that I just don't see it being the 9.2 rumor when you use common logic. If its 12+ then Sony has hit a homerun and stole the spotlight.

Exactly. I think I saw somewhere that they wanted to reveal info at GDC before everything went down.

But I agree, i don't see the logic of dropping info of a 30% weaker console within 2 days of Xbox dropped massive specs. Especially since Xbox will continue to talk about Series X the same day you want to reveal info, so it's not a coincidence.

Even if that Tommie Fisher "leak" matches up well with Xbox, I'm not going to get into the whole TFlops war lol. Look what Sony has done with PS4 with just over 4 TF. I don't think it's 9.2 though either. I can see 10-11 TF. I do believe they have a faster SSD though. Having a faster SSD, can make up for lower power. Seeing that Spiderman video compared to the Xbox tech demos, I think Sony will have faster console
