Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
All my own opinion, if those tweets are about PS5 overheating and not passing internal testing, if anything, it should be expected because Sony is trying to stay with the traditional console and it's simply not working for them. Add in the overclocking which produces even more power consumption and thus more heat and yeah, I can easily see Sony delaying PS5.
This issue combined with all the leadership/management changes that's been made since September as well as being completely caught off guard by Microsoft not only revealing the specs but the form factor as well months ago has simply hurt Sony.
Sony simply wasn't ready where as Microsoft has been working on Series X for approximately four years. PlayStation 5 is going to be amazing but they made some bad design decisions and choices ala PlayStation 3 and it's causing them issues.
If/when PlayStation 5 gets delayed, I wouldn't be surprised one bit especially after today with TLOUP2 being delayed. If Tsushima gets delayed, then I see PlayStation 5 getting delayed 100%.Comment

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
If PlayStation 5 still releases, I can see TLOUP2 being a cross-gen launch title with possibly the online MP being ready. Tsushima could also be cross-gen but that's a risk because TLOUP2 would completely overshadow it. It will definitely be interesting to see it all play out.Comment

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
I think this is just straight up BS. I don't believe it one bit. Sony has never had a major hardware issue don't think they would now. Not saying they have zero issues but never big ones more small ones.
I am starting to think it will be delayed just like how ever thing is getting effected by this virus to the point where i expected ever thing to be delayed, and if it does come out on time i wonder if there will even be much to play has games that where supposed to be ready for launch of ps5 multi-platform or exclusive i think will just about all be pushed to early 2021, and games that where supposed to be early 2021 may be more like middle 2021. So for example i was expecting Ratchet and clank to be a launch exclusive, now i think it will be a early 2021 game. Horizon zero dawn 2 i thought would be a early 2021 game i think now will be more like a middle of the year 2021 game. Even the one like game that is godfall that we like now of i think will end up being early 2021 now. If that is true then i really don't see the point in coming out with ps5 this year might has well just let your last few big ps4 games come out late this year and maybe the price to make ps5 will even drop slighly.Comment

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
I wonder if Sony and Microsoft have enough of a relationship where they can just have a gentlemen's agreement agree to push the consoles back till the early part of the year ? They are all kinds of issues where even if things improve in the summer would cause problems for the launch.Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

Plus saw on Twitter who they were saying that guy has been talking bad on Sony for years. You just have this toxic fanboys just spreading false narratives just by saying they have inside sources. The funny ones are devote all their free time to talking down one console, but plan to buy both consoles.Comment

Oh hell no. If Microsoft is ready to go, why should they delay their own console to give Sony who doesn't need it whatsoever a break?
Rumors had that Microsoft was even thinking of releasing Series X in September to get a two month head start and that would have been awesome because it would be right before all the Fall games hit. November is pretty much set in stone especially since their manufacturing plants are back up and running in China so I don't see the console being delayed at all. I can see Halo Infinite being delayed if it's not ready but not the console.
It's not like Sony would give Microsoft a break if the roles were reversed. If Microsoft is ready to go, then their console should be released. If Sony isn't ready to go, that's on them, not Microsoft or anyone else.
I shouldn't have to wait an extra four months to get the console I want day one just because the other company isn't ready. Screw that. Too bad. I want next gen already and if the roles were reversed, would any Sony fan wait for Microsoft to be ready? No they wouldn't nor should they.Comment

I want the next gen systems as much as anyone does. Everything in the world is being pushed back / delayed at now. Its definitely a lot more likely the systems are pushed back then a few weeks back. Even if the systems launch on time your doing so with a lot more issues/bugs with stuff due to the work situation. A lot of people aren't going to have the extra income they thought they would come November.
I've learned to not believe any rumor regardless of what side its on.

Majority of what's being pushed back is Spring related stuff. We're talking 7 months from now. If Microsoft is ready and I do believe that they will be, then they should release Xbox Series X.
Several Fall games will get delayed but there's also some like Cyberpunk 2077 and the next Assassin's Creed game that won't be delayed and I would much rather play them on Series X instead of PS4 Pro.
So if Microsoft is ready, they should go full steam ahead. As for money issues, that's what Series S will be for. I just don't believe that Microsoft (or Sony if the roles were reversed) should delay their console because their competitor isn't ready to go. If anything, that would be the complete opposite of what they should do.
As for all the rumors, my own personal opinion is that when I look at Sony deciding to put majority of the emphasis on their SSD and overclocking both the GPU and CPU, to be perfectly honest, I see it all as the second coming of the Cell processor where it does way more harm than good. Internal studios won't have any issues but I do see third party publishers and developers having issues with all of it but we'll see how it all plays out.
Hopefully, in 7 months from now, we're all getting ready to play PlayStation 5 and/or Xbox Series X.Comment

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
I feel that the Teardown will happen within the next 2 weeks. DF must have gotten the okay to go in deeper detail of what was talked about before. Sony definitely has to show off games and tech demos this time around. One thing I like about Microsoft is that they have a good job of being transparent and vocal since December. Sony hasn't done a good job of marketing so far. The narrative amongst casuals is that PS5 is the weaker console with weaker backwards compatibility and games will load 2-3 secs faster. That's what happens when you tell but don't show.
I'm sure many people are done hearing about specs. The whole game landscape is up in air with current pandemic. But if they can show up early game footage and tech demos, that'll be good enoughComment

PlayStation 5 is simply weaker across the board than Series X but the SSD is much faster. When you subtract the overclocking, it looks even worse. I really don't understand why Sony didn't go all out with PlayStation 5. I do believe that they really want $400 and while other outside forces may factor into it, if there was going to be a generation in which you could easily justify $500 for a console, this upcoming one would be it.
Microsoft has simply won me over since X019 and then showing Series X at TGA was something that only those with real sources and connections knew about. I wasn't expecting that until E3 2020 before it was obviously cancelled. Microsoft's messaging has simply been far better, far more easier to understand and in other words, the complete opposite of not only Sony but complete opposite of their messaging with Xbox One seven years ago.
The biggest issue I have with Sony outside of their direction for PS5 was not just their messaging but talking for 40 minutes about the SSD and not showing it off puzzled me. They showed a clip of Spider Man last year but didn't show anything during the Cerny presentation which if you're not going to show us what makes your SSD special, why promote a 40 minute presentation to gamers about it?
Have to wait and see how it all plays out. At this point, im just hoping Tsushima doesn't get delayed even though im fully expecting it to.Comment

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
Sony has to nail the price and be $50 to $100 and be cheaper. That would allow them to still have the games and the cheaper price. This would make up for the horrible marketing of the system so far. They can still roll out a pro version a few years down the line and get the power. If Microsoft matches $ its going to be really interesting fast and the weaker system would kinda be for nothing. Because it doesn't look like the ps5 mega exclusives are coming anytime soon.Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense
