Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season

I hope they go over Backwards Compatibility more and go more in depth with PS5 Boosted BC titles. There are titles I only played once that I would like revisit. Would love to play Uncharted 4, Spiderman, GoW, and others at 4k60. But I also curious to see how some of those games take advantage of SSD. I'd imagine faster loading. But some of these games don't have traditional loading screens. They have the workarounds with artificially slowing character's down, elevators, long corridors, etc. So outside of respawns, transitions, and fast travel, some of those titles will mainly benefit from higher resolution and frame rates. I can see less remasters from current gen to next gen. Unless they want to make a cash grab off it or touch up everything, I feel just optimizing game to have faster loading, higher resolution and frame rates would be good enough for current gen titles.

Hope Sony takes the Xbox route and optimize more legacy titles. I would like to see more PS1-PS3 titles on PSNow optimized to PS5 like Xbox does. That would entice me to consider subscribing to PSNow

I still want a remaster of MGS4. Would like a remake of MGS3, but a remaster of MGS4 seems like an easier feat. It stills hold up well to today's standard. Give it the 4k60, improved audio, faster loading, improved AI and bugs. But the main thing would be having higher res textures on non priority characters or assets. The low res texturea does stand out today. I would definitely be interested in a remaster of MGS4 if they worked on those things

Something the SSD will help in that I've not seen anyone talk about much is that I think it will allow me to play on harder difficulties.

I typically on easy (sometimes normal) because I die so much. It just becomes not fun and the 30 seconds wait or whatever can feel like forever. The time to restart on the ps5 being so fast It will take some of the pressure off dyeing so much because in 1 second I'll be ready to start the fight again.

It would be funny if the load times increased every time you were to die in the game. Hehehehe.

Yeah, respawning within 1-2 secs will be such a time saver. Wonder how devs will approach it with it being so fast. It would be cool if your character dies and there's a fast sequence where screen fades black for a sec and fades back and your character is back at check point.

Also design changes benefits. Outside of loading screen workarounds(long corridors, elevators, slowing down character), there should be Faster transitions in and out of cutscenes, faster transitions in and out of games(really helpful in sports games), you don't need them long drawn out cuts scenes in order to load new areas, loading up different save files in games should be at an instant(think of loading save files in RDR2).

Faster loading is big for me. I always felt like I didn't have ample time to play games. With a toddler now, time is even more limited. Those 2-5 seconds loading times makes a big difference when your time is limited.

I like it. I understand wanting to continue with PlayStation Blue, but rather them went with Black or Clear case. It would would have meshed better and went with the console design

Sony invests $250 million in Epic Games. I can see Epics games having an exclusive PS5 game that is built off Unreal Engine 5. I can see that being the first game that is built fully on UE5 being released on PS5. Also see some Sony studios eventually use UE moreso than in past

I don't see the reason why they would do this at first glance since its just a 1% stake in the company. I wonder how the rights fee will work now if they use it compared to what they paid for using days gone.

I see Sony's PS5 exclusives going to PC via the Epic Games Store day one and then go to Steam a year later which would also explain the missing "only on playstation" label from the Spider Man box art released earlier today.
