I'm definitely not getting this at launch, but if the PS5 controller is superior and works well on PC then I might get one of those at launch.

Note that I'm aware a lot of the upgrades may be related specifically to the PS5 console in and of itself, such as with haptic feedback. I'm just talking about the overall ergonomic design, battery life, etc.

I'm going to hold off buying the first batch of these consoles. The first ones always are watered down. They always come out with more memory space and smaller units after the first batch and are usually cheaper. Even if they aren't cheaper you get more the second round.

This is the smart and logical thing to do however I held off on a ps4 pro and 4k TV for a few years. So I just cant wait a few more months and I really want to experience a few of the new games right away.

Exactly. Smart thing is to hold off. But for me, it's going on 7 months without playing games, so I'm definitely can't wait for next gen.
Even with the Fat PS4 disc ejecting issue, I had no plans on getting the PS4 Pro. But I got it as a gift. The Pro is the only reason I got a 4kTV. I probably would have held out. I'm good with the 4kTV I have for a few more years. I can get at least 4k60 on, it might be able to do 120FPS. But when I think of 120FPS gaming, I think of racing, multiplayer shooting games. I don't think the games that'll be 120FPS Capable are games that I'll be interested in. Maybe in 2 years or so there will be clearer lists of TVs are perfect for next gen consoles and probably at a more affordable cost

Honestly... I think everyone seriously needs to make their decision now. If you're gonna wait to buy one release day, good luck. Everyone is most likely in the same boat, and everything is limited stock right now. I truly wouldn't be surprised if both consoles went sold out within 24 hours.

With COVID this year, people have turned to gaming more than anything. Stock is lowered on everything (i mean, I went in to ABT AND Best Buy on a random Thursday last month and they both were literally sold out of the CX line of TVs) and I doubt these will be any exception.

Personally, I bought my TV specifically for these next gen consoles, and Ill be pre-ordering both. Its definitely not a smart decision when looking at the bigger picture, but Id rather have them in my hands day one than wait and get a slightly better overall product. And in 3-4 years or whatever when they have the PS5 Pro or whatever out, maybe I trade in my PS5 and spend $200 for that. Im not at all expecting this to be a popular decision, and some might think my logic is absolutely crazy, but thats where I stand on it.

Yeah, I expect that if you don't preorder they'll be hard to get in stores until at leats spring 2021.

I agree. If you don't preorder right away, you'll be SOL. Especially with Pandemic. Last thing you'll want is dealing with a scalper and them charging you over a $1000 for a console because you changed your mind after console releases. I rather pre-order asap and get it day one than possibly having to wait until Spring to get one.

I'm kind of debating whether to upgrade to a PS5 Pro. I could have went without a PS4 Pro. It would have saved me from buying a 4kTV at that time. It depends on what the Pro Model offers

Debating on waiting for next spring when the ps5’s release of the show 21 myself. With ghost of Tsushima release Friday, and madden and avengers in the fall....I hopefully will be able to hold out. I think online and home delivery shouldn’t be a problem. If youre counting on a store and in person pick up, yea good luck.

Pretty much agree with everything you say. I'm hoping to buy the LG 48" CX OLED by September but it will sit in the box until the next gen consoles launch.

I have been going back and forth with pre-ordering PlayStation 5 once available or to wait. I'm all in with Series X and will have 5-12 games for it at launch including the multi-platform games while on the other side, as much as I love Spider Man, im not super hyped for Miles Morales knowing that it's basically an expansion. Would have preferred them to wait until 2022 and just give me the sequel.

PlayStation 5 will be my secondary exclusives only console (like Xbox One was this gen) and thus far, I have four games that I will play. Spider Man: Miles Morales, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Returnal and Horizon II: Forbidden West. Only problem is that im expecting the first two games to both be available by Spring 2021. Spider Man at launch and Ratchet by April 2021 if I had to guess.

The other two im not expecting until 2022. Then, I have my own personal gut feeling that PlayStation 5 Pro is pretty much a guarantee for late 2023 so when I compare that aspect to PS4/PS4 Pro, if PS4 wasn't my primary console and waited until the Pro model, I would have only had a 4 game backlog in those three years between the PS4 base model and PS4 Pro model.

One thing is certain though - if PlayStation 5 pre-orders go "live" before Series X then im definitely waiting since im going to go with the console that will be my primary first.

While it's doubtful and not expecting, im hoping that Microsoft announces the price, release date and that pre-orders go live the day after their showcase next week just so I can pre-order it and have it "done" so I don't have to give it a second thought.

Either way, I will own both consoles as it's simply a question of when as opposed to if.

I'm not debating per se as I want one on release day, but if I don't get one, it's not the end of the world.

I really want to get one before the Show '21 drops though.

Plenty of games in my back log to keep me entertained until then.

Sony seems to double up on news a lot lately the day GOT comes out the controller thing is happening. I think we all know what to expect from the controller so I'm not expecting anything earth shattering. I do dread all the comments about wanting other colors.
