I'm still surprised they're dead set on launching this year considering everything going on with really no end anytime soon.

That’s the exact reason why they are still launching. The video game industry is one of the areas that had benefitted from COVID. People are gaming more and buying more. Sony has ramped up production too - almost double what they had planned. These next gen systems will fly off the shelves.

Yeah, I feel the pre-orders will run out real quick. Initially, I wanted to wait at least a month to 6 months just to see if there was any technical issues with the first waves of consoles. But, I feel there will be periods of times, within the first 6-10 months, where stores will be out of stock. So I'm comfortable pre-ordering and getting it day one

So let me get this straight.

I have to most likely spend 60 to get Miles Morales and PS4 Spiderman remastered right?

What about if I do not want to buy Miles Morales and have a PS5? Do I get remaster free? If so that means they are abusing the ones who want to buy the Miles Morales by throwing in that remaster to bump price on an 8 hour game

So i have heard a lot of people talking about the spiderman mm on ps5 also coming with a remaster of spiderman ps4. Now that seems odd and off because i would think spiderman would just simple get a patch to look/run better just like how games on pro got a pro patch. Also it could add to the price to get spiderman mm and what if you already had spiderman on ps4? What i am thinking is what if the rumor is some what true. What i mean is maybe spiderman ps4 will be a game for free on playstation + in November around the time ps5 comes out? That would be a smart move i think to have spiderman be a free playstation + game right around the time mm and ps5 comes out would be really good marketing for mm.

I am going to pre-order too but EB Games won’t take any pre-orders until they announce a date and price in Canada. Hopefully soon.

You could buy one at launch and not open the box for a week or so to see if people are having issues. After the Xbox 360 mess I ended up waiting a while before buying an Xbox one.

I think we are good with the PS5 , my PS1 PS3 and PS4 have not had any issues.Never owned a PS2 , need to get one.

I'm going to try to pre-order on Best Buy online asap or other outlets. I have several outlets subscribed for pre-order notifications. I never pre--ordered a console. But I'm all set for next gen

You could buy one at launch and not open the box for a week or so to see if people are having issues. After the Xbox 360 mess I ended up waiting a while before buying an Xbox one.

I think we are good with the PS5 , my PS1 PS3 and PS4 have not had any issues.Never owned a PS2 , need to get one.

That's what I might do. My original fat PS4 had the disc eject issue and I got that console a year after launch. I had the 20gb PS3 as a teen and I didn't heed the warning not to play LA Noire on the weaker PS3 because it messed up my blue ray drive and could only play digital games after that .

I think a week or 2 is enough time to see any initial issues. For me, it just depends on when it launches. If it is week of 20th, that'll be tougher to wait just because my weekends off are long ones(5 days). But after a week, there should be a good feel of how consoles initially perform

I could understand that in the beginning, but if that's still the trend that's crazy.

But if you buy a ps5 and do not want MM, you lose out on remaster version of spiderman on your new ps5?

I hope MM comes as just that game or the choice of getting it with remaster ps4 spiderman if you prefer.

I agree the update should free but if Miles Morales is $60 because it comes with Spiderman remaster there is no way you will get a free update to your already owned digital version

MM must be sold individually and a second sku with the spiderman ps4 game remastered for higher price

that means that if you never got spiderman on ps4 you would get the full package for $60 but if you already have the ps4 game you can just get a free update and pay $40 for MM

So can someone correct me if am wrong but I see nowhere if Sony has confirmed freesync for ps5.

I know MS has for xsx as the xbox one x has it but I went back to Cerny video and he did not mention it.

People are running with the notion that it will be on the ps5 but I have not seen sony confirm it. This would be a big deal when most high end tvs have it and most monitors have it

One thing that leads me to believe it won't is the fact that sony has said they prefer 30fps cinematic experiences which you do not need free sycn for that

so the August state of play will be August 6th and will not have any major ps5 news. I wonder if they shifted away at the last minute and focused more on ps4 ?

At least they set expectations low asap. They still have to support PS4 because many aren't just going to move immediately to PS5. Even though I was finished with this generation at the end of last year, will still definitely tune into it.
They're still slow dripping info out. It still feels like they want Microsoft to show their hand before doing anything major. Being that it is just over 3 months until release, I do expect them to ramp it up soon. My main three things I'm looking forward to are 1)Pre-order/Price/Launch date, 2) more Live next gen gameplay, 3) Console Teardown and UI/Software features

You got that straight.

I didn't move to a PS4 until two years after launch, when I saw how amazing MLB Show was. I dont expect to be wowed by a PS5 game for a while that will entice me to buy a new console. I'm hoping Battlefield 6 will be the game.
