I'm expecting Ghost of Tsushima and WB Montreal's Batman game to be cross-gen and either same day as PS5/Scarlett or released September/October for current gen and next gen at launch. Expecting a brand new Uncharted game at launch or in 2021. Crash all depends on Activision.

I will say 2022 for God of War 2 and Spider Man 2. Based on Rockstar's history, im going to say 2023 for GTA 6. Any earlier and I would consider it a bonus. LOL.

True, it does take a few years for the sports titles to get going. Should definitely have a few good launch titles as well as BC.
As much as I want Batman, all we heard are speculations. Especially if we didn't hear anything by now, I'm kind of doubting it would be a launch title. GoT is definitely going to be cross gen with PS5 version just mainly being a upgrade version. With it already looking visually appealing now, imagine it on PS5. I say Crash just because of how they having been making money off of it last 3 years. If they only made the trilogy remaster, then I wouldn't have considered. But since they also remastered the racing game as well, I can see them making a brand new Crash B
I agree on Spiderman and GOW. I do feel like they would want to the devs to take full advantage of new consoles. So I would expected them to have upgraded PS5 versions of current Spiderman and GoW at launch. But as far as GTA, I feel Rockstar might want to start releasing games more sooner. They went to now releasing a major game every 5-7 years. While they are making money, they could flood the market more. Where they could do what they did with games like GTA in PS2 era, where they use same engine and just create new stories after 2-3 years.
Unless sports games don't take that step back to strip all the modes and rebuild, then we're looking at a couple years. I would see Assassins Creed. But I got AC fatigue years ago. I'm just not into yearly releases for non sports games. While yes, if it is working, just stay with it. But I got tired of it. Last one I think I played fully was the one with the Native Americans

If Spider-man or Days Gone had the same everything but a new story, I would pre-order right away and play that **** in a HEARTBEAT.

I believe that Batman will be shown at either XO19 (if Microsoft gets the marketing deal for it) or at The Game Awards (if they don't or hasn't been decided yet). It's been 6 years since WB Montreal released Origins and Rocksteady is working on their next gen title which isn't Batman or Superman for that matter. I believe that it gets revealed before year's end. Just way too many reports about it plus all the teases that WB did a month or so ago. Can easily seeing a short reveal trailer at XO19 or TGA and then a longer gameplay video at Sony's or Microsoft's E3 showcase.

Agree with you in regards to Tsushima and the Crash stuff.

Yeah, there have been reports that Rockstar wants to release more games but do they really need to? In my opinion, they don't but do I want them to? Absolutely. My favorite time when it comes to Rockstar was during the PS2 era. Vice City was my favorite but also Manhunt and The Warriors were great.

The last AC game you played then was AC III that released back in 2012. I played a little of that one but quit during sequence IV when they were doing a hunting tutorial. I was like, im done. But the AC game I started with was Black Flag. Since then and for me, it's Black Flag/Rogue > Odyssey/Origins > Syndicate > Unity > Liberation HD.

They do have two teams working on AC now. AC 2020 is led by Ashraf Ismail who did Black Flag and Origins. Odyssey was done by the Syndicate team. After Ubisoft's delay announcements and whatnot, it looks like they're going to be taking their time with games for next gen. Ideally, every other year for AC would be great with the in-between year having expansions for the current AC game. So AC Ragnarok in November 2020 with a few expansions in 2021 followed by AC 2022 done by the Syndicate/Odyssey team. This way, there's a one year gap but because it's two separate teams, both have a four year development cycle.

I honestly love AC for the most part and im very much looking forward to the next one which is heavily rumored to feature Vikings and stuff so yeah, im definitely hyped.

As for the sports titles, I don't know why they remove stuff when the new generation starts. You would think that they would just build upon it all.

Thats what I don't mind. Not yearly, but every 2-3 years. Like with Batman Arkham series or the GTA PS2 series. If the engine/gameplay is well received, then I'm all for a new game with same engine and a we'll thought out story.

Rockstar has been raking off of GTA V for the last 6 years and will with Red Dead 2 for next couple years. I just think going back to the old model doesn't hurt. Their game engines are usually solid enough where they can just create new stories with same engine and assets and have it be a different feel. Like I saw a video where it said Vice City made in a " short" time period and wasn't expecting it to be as successful. Where Ray Liotta rubbed Rockstar the wrong way by saying he should have asked for more money. I liked Warriors, just got stuck on the one part where you're on the train track running and never got past it when i was younger.
I had just gotten AC fatigue by time Black Flag arrived. As far as sports games stripping down modes, I always thought it had to do with coding and it not being as easily transferable. I remember hearing about Maddens Franchise code not being transferrable without having issues. I guess since we have been going to different CPU/GPU each generation, that takes affect. But since we are staying in the x86 and BC being huge push, hopefully that allows for smoother transition

I'm not waiting 2 years for a $50-$100 price drop, my enjoyment will exceed those funds hopefully.

I would be unbelievably happy if Rockstar somehow went back to developing games as frequently as they used to. The days of having GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas all within a 3 year span was gaming heaven for me. I know games these days are more complex than they were 20 years ago when III and Vice City released, but what I would give to have GTA games releasing every other year or even one every three years.

My backlog of PS4 titles is immense (both physical and digital versions of various games).

If the PS5 is BC for both disc and digital then I am in.

If not......I will finish every games in my backlog then move on to the PS5. So I may be picking it up in 2021 or launch. It really depends on the BC feature for me. I have so many great games I want to still play on my PS4 Pro.
                Now Playing on PS5:
                CFB 26 Hurricanes/Fresno State Year 2
                MLB The Show 25 - 2025 Yankees Year 1

I just went back to see like how many games where shown in feb 2013 when ps4 was first shown. It was 9 games. I wonder if we get ps5 type of thing in feb if it will be something similar to that.

Something I was wondering about SSD. With all the talks of faster loading times and being a lot faster, would that include faster simulation speed in sports games?
When you are simulating a game or season in the menu, sometimes it can take a little while. It would be nice if simulating games in the menu can take seconds not minutes.

I am truly neutral to which system I get, although more friends are getting Xbox (but then related to that I never usually see my friends online when I play so...)

However, I heard a rumor that Sony may release a more beastly, powerful Pro type version of PS5 and, if true, would lend me toward settling down in the Sony camp, at least until spring when I have both.

I say this because I find I tend to play with the best hardware (although again I do own both systems) and if there's better hardware available then I'd prefer to just buy that system to play on considering it'll probably run multi-platform games the best.

Anyone think this will be the case? A "Pro" or enhanced version of the PS5 in addition to the regular version?

Originally, the next Xbox was rumored to do the two console launch model. Then that was somewhat swept away. Then past month or so, we heard PlayStation considering following the same two console launch model. Only way I think that should be the case is if Sony/Xbox feels they can sell the console built at max power and have a "consumer friendly" price. I feel most of us feel the price will be $500-600. While I still see some speculating $400, I feel that highly unlikely due to specs we are being told about. That's where the 2 console system would come in. Lets say for Xbox/PS to built at full power capacity, no way they can sell it under $550-600 without taking a big loss and knowing a lot of casual fans/parents don't want to spend that much. Then you can make a PS5 lite at like $400 and PS5 Pro at what ever price you feel is appropriate. Only thing with a PS5 Lite is that it would still need to feel like a big jump over PS4 Pro

I'm more of a build one system at full capacity without need for mid gen. While I have always been frugal with money, I would be willing to spend $500-600. I just don't want to buy a launch console then 3 years late see a Pro model come out. If they build a new console during the generation, I rather it just be a Slim model or one with higher storage size. I just want to buy one console without thinking buying another one until next gen comes around. But if they have to make a Pro model, I rather it be a launch so I don't have to worry there being a mid gen refresh.

When you are simulating a game or season in the menu, sometimes it can take a little while. It would be nice if simulating games in the menu can take seconds not minutes.
That's a function of horsepower rather than read/write speeds typically.
