Both are under 10% and 20% respectively because the investment is much higher due to them being more for 4K TV's.

For example, im day one for Xbox Series X (and PS5) but the entry cost will be far past $1000. It will be around $3000 as im buying the LG OLED CX 55" TV. The vast majority of consumers simply aren't going to do this.

I'm expecting a great show in July and will definitely start to make people forget about Xbox One and simply be ready to move on to Xbox Series X.
This is exactly what im doing. Im getting the PS5 digital as I only buy digital games now, but if the XSS is non 4k Im 100% getting the X.

    Btw, the CX is phenomenal.

You mean the Xbox One X? If so, Series S will in fact be more powerful because the GPU is Navi as opposed to Xbox One's GCN GPU. Even at $300, Series S will be a great value.

Agree with the first part because if you have a great 4K TV, buying the Series S would be a waste of money especially when that money could go towards the Series X.

Great to know. I'm planning on buying it in September/October. Can't wait!!!

Same boat. I wish Xbox had great exclusives but really all they have that I like is Halo. Sony has Spiderman, Days Gone, TLOU.. and those are just my personal favorites.

I do think Xbox is going to try to bring it this gen with exclusives. Plain simply, they have too. Out if their 15 Game Studios, they do have some top tier studios. With the Power advantage over PS5, would like to see some visually stunning CPU/GPU intensive games that PS5 couldn't run at that fidelity. Xbox just needs to target more single player experiences.
They should target to have at least 1-2 major exclusives every year.

Xbox Series X will have plenty of exclusives from their 15 first party studios including single player story driven games but the difference is that unlike Sony, they also give you multi-player as well for those who want to play online.

We all know about Halo Infinite which is said to be amazing and have one hell of a single player campaign but also have an MP which could be separate and free to purchase. Coalition is most likely working on Gears 6 which will conclude the Gears 4/5/6 trilogy story arcs with their later game rumored to be a new IP.

Rare has Everwild even though is further out and im still surprised Microsoft decided to show it since them showing games early in development usually end up going poorly. Ninja Theory has Hellblade 2 which is going to be awesome and Project Mara.

PlayGround is obviously working Forza Horizon 5 while their new studio is working on what is rumored to be Fable which is said to be their Witcher 3. The Initiative is working on a game that should be shown at their July event and is rumored to be a Perfect Dark reboot and possibly be in third person instead of first person.

Obsidian is rumored to be working on an AAA "skyrim" type RPG and most likely Outer Worlds 2. InXile has an AAA RPG in the works for after Wasteland 3.

No idea what Compulsion is working on but they have been elevated and could be working on an AAA title. Undead Labs is most likely working on their massive online multi-player State of Decay game which they have wanted to do for almost a decade.

Double Fine has Psychonauts 2 and another game in the works for next gen. We'll also be getting the console version of Gears Tactics later this year which is said to be great and im very much looking forward to it. They also have Flight Simulator 2020 and Age of Empires franchise for PC for those who like/enjoy those games.

There's also rumors that Microsoft could be acquiring more studios ranging from Splash Damage (Gears Tactics), Asobo (A Plague Tale, Flight Sim 2020), Techland (this is my personal hope, Dying Light 2) and Bloober Team (currently developing The Medium for Series X/PC which is said to have started as a Silent Hill game for Konami but was passed on).

Future of Xbox is very bright and has the most potential since the early/halfway point of Xbox 360. But everyone has to be patient and all the studio acquisitions only happened two years ago or less and it simply takes time plus I don't want to see games shown 3-4 years out like Sony does. I want to see games that are within the next two years.

I'm way more excited for Xbox Series X than I am for PlayStation 5, not just because Series X is the better overall gaming console but I don't know what to expect from their studios out of the rumors. With Sony, it's a given that we'll be getting sequels to all their PS4 exclusives with a new IP here and there (im expecting their new IP's to be half as much as it was for PS5 as they did that for PS4 and can now turn those PS4 new IP's into franchises on PS5 and possibly beyond). All of Sony's exclusives are great and im looking forward to the vast majority of them but at the same time, im not excited about them because we all can see them coming. It's just a matter of time where as with Microsoft and Xbox Series X, im the most hyped I have been for their brand in a decade. Both consoles will be excellent though.

I get both systems every Gen and that won't change, but Next Gen I will not be getting the XSX day one, I will be getting the PS5 day one.

For me, the MS and xbox dropped the ball with me big time this gen for me. I don't feel like I got my moneys worth out of my One X. Yes game pass is nice, and I have the ultimate until the end of next year.

Out of those 15 studios don't think they are all releasing AAA games, because some are Indie games that I don't care for. Honest MS has a lot to prove this Gen and I hope they do prove Themselves.

I agree. I like peter420's optimism. But Microsoft has to prove itself. I like Microsoft's approach so far. I'm sure July's event is going to bring it because Inside Xbox was a letdown.
They have some good studios, but a lot are going to be Indie and AA games for Gamepass content. But hope it isn't the scenario that you have to wait until they start making next gen exclusives to really see those quality games from first party. I'm sure Halo and Forza will be good, but have to bring it.

Wonder if Ninja will make the move or go back to Twitch? I know things didn't end well with Twitch when he jumped to Mixer.

I don't watch his content or Twitch/Mixer much at all, just genuinely curious.

Reportedly both Ninja and Shroud opted out of their contracts, but still got their $$ from the move. They're free to negotiate / stream wherever.

I don't watch Ninja either, but I enjoy watching Shroud / Bnans

Completely understandable as I felt the same way about Xbox One and PlayStation 3. Both gave me 5 exclusives that I cared about but PS4 gave me 20 from Sony published titles alone. I see Xbox Series X doing for me what PS4 did for me after PS3.

They haven't even had their July event yet and I already have Halo Infinite and Hellblade 2 as guaranteed playthroughs with Everwild being 50/50. I also have a few exclusives from third party studios like The Ascent, Second Extinction and The Medium.

They will have more AAA titles than AA as all of the studios have been elevated and ramped up in money, resources and personnel.

I do agree that Microsoft's first party studios have a lot to prove but in fairness, outside 343 Industries, The Coalition and Turn 10, all of them have only been under Microsoft for two years or less.

Sony's studios took years if not decades to get where they are today. Gamers need to give those studios the same amount of time as it won't happen over night. The studio that needs to prove something now is 343 Industries with Halo Infinite. Turn 10 is great for Motorsport and Coalition has been great with Gears (at least the campaign anyway). Rest simply need time.

I'm buying both day one but Xbox Series X will be my primary like Xbox 360 was simply because I believe it to be the better overall console. Not just in specs but in the tools that they have for the console with no compromises whatsoever. PlayStation 5 will be for exclusives only and while they will be great, I know what to expect as you just have to look at the PS4 exclusives to know what's eventually coming where as with Microsoft, it's more of a mystery and that has me excited. Similar to PS4 with Horizon, God of War reboot, Spider Man, Days Gone, etc. No one was expecting those games until they were announced. That's how I see Series X being for next gen.

Series X future line up will be a lot clearer after their July event.

To be perfectly honest, I see 343 Industries, The Coalition, Turn 10, Playground Games (both studios), The Initiative, Ninja Theory, Rare, Obsidian and InXile as all being AAA for next generation. Double Fine is 50/50 as is Undead Labs even though I do expect both especially Undead Labs to get a boost. Compulsion Games is the wildcard in my opinion.

I do believe that we'll see many new IP's from Sony as the majority will be sequels to the new IP's they established during the PS4 generation. We'll still get them but I would say, half as many as PS4.

The May Inside Xbox was disappointing but at the same time, I personally added Bright Memory Infinite, Scorn, The Medium, Second Extinction and The Ascent to my futurelog games list. Infinite is still to be determined but the other four as far as I know are console exclusives to Xbox with one or two being on Xbox One as well.

Watching them both a second time, I would rate the Inside Xbox show 6/10 as it was disappointing for two reasons - Greenberg overhyping the show as usual when he should have just said this will be a smaller third party showcase and no gameplay for AC Valhalla which was on Ubisoft as Microsoft doesn't determine what is shown by third party developers. Plus, no gameplay was said the day before so im guessing it got pulled or whatever.

The Sony show was a 7/10 because it had the same issues, no gameplay from the major first party titles. Spider Man is out in 5 months and you don't show gameplay? That makes no sense. Of course, since it seems to be using the PS4 map and assets, it probably explains why they didn't show gameplay plus I do believe the game has been rushed to have it done for launch. Horizon 2 looked great but it wasn't gameplay. I'm surprised they didn't show at least 30 seconds to a minute of actual gameplay. Demons' Souls no gameplay. Ratchet had the most gameplay which is fully understandable since I believe the game is done. Returnal looked good in the small 30 seconds of gameplay but it seems like it's further out. Gran Turismo 7 was fine. I believe that Forza Horizon 4 looks better and I don't even care about racing games whatsoever.

Worse of all, Sony hyped up the event as the future of gaming but yet started the show with GTA 5. Like, WTF? I could see if it was GTA 6. Like, okay but a 7 year old game is NOT the future of gaming and I don't care what game it is. And the middle dragged with Indies galore which is great for those who love them but outside of Kena, nothing looking remotely close to what you would expect the future of gaming to look like. Also, the future of gaming should be 60FPS locked, not 30FPS. That's just disappointing.

Plus, too many people were comparing it to the Inside Xbox showcase which made no sense as it's their July event that's the major one. May was just for third parties smaller titles.

Overall, neither have hit a home run yet. Hopefully, Microsoft hits it out of the park in July. If not, then we'll have some issues but until then, I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

I agree with that.

I think they take a similar approach and show first party games that are slated to come out within first 2 years. But definitely agree about seeing more raw gameplay. I feel HellBlade 2 will be one of the first next gen exclusives because I don't see it coming out within first year. I do want to see more gameplay and not just hype trailers. Even a vertical slice like the Epic Ps5 video. Something that shows the potential of the Series X running live.

As far as I know, the only major titles that will be cross-gen will be Halo Infinite, Gears Tactics, Forza Motorsport 8 and Forza Horizon 5. Once 2022 hits, I would be very surprised to see any cross-gen titles. It simply comes down to them starting development with Xbox One in mind and then moving it to Series X as well.

Hellblade 2 should have gameplay at the July event. I will be shocked if it doesn't. Definitely want more gameplay. At least a few minutes for each major title.

I'm hoping that after July, Microsoft does what Sony has done for TLOUP2 and Tsushima in regards to giving them 20+ minute overview of the game. That would be huge because you can see what a particular game is all about in one shot.

I believe that Halo Infinite will be the game that showcases the Series X along with Forza. Possibly Fable as well. As long as gameplay is shown and they all look great, I'll be happy. Any cinematic crap and I'll be disappointed.

I currently don't own a 4k TV. Since I don't play anywhere near as much as I used to I am looking at the Lockhart. However I would not pay any more than $250. This console is sure to feel under powered in a few years if not sooner.
Hopefully it provides a "next gen" experience.
