I think the games will make their way to Sony consoles but not for years. I think for now making them pc/xbox exclusive makes sense to grow your console and game pass on pc and xbox.

If you are a sony fan and getting ps5 and want those games you do not have to buy the X, you can buy the S at just 300

Xbox keeping these games on the Xbox and pc platform hurts them initially, but will help their brand and console in the long run I believe. Only time will tell.

This definitely makes me feel awesome about buying a X though....pretty much erases the FOMO about Sony first party games....i could always deal with it, but having all this on Game Pass day one that's amazing

You really think that if this was effecting sales of the x or the pro that Sony and MS would not have named it something totally different.

What makes you story even more of a scam is the fact that why in the world would someone tell you on FB Market that they can get the S which does the same for 150? Ummm so why not buy that...They were just trying to bully you into buying it cheaper. They know exactly the difference

Most stores you walk into have the X and the S right next to each other.

Let me see how a dumb parent can tell the difference

On the left bracket we have the WHITE box S that cost 150

On the right bracket we have the BLACK box X that cost 500

If a parent was told by their kid they wanted an xbox one x and they saw the S and X you think they will just buy the cheaper because is the same thing but for some reason the store or MS decided to sell the same thing in two big different price range.

If the parent buys the S is only to save money and that has ZERO to do with MS naming it.

MS Could have named the console XBOX Super Duper COnsole and the X Xbox Predator Machine

That is not going to stop a cheap person from buying the cheaper console. They were not confused...They just wanted to spend less...Naming had zero to do with that

Benji-Sales already addressed this and it's nowhere near the big deal that websites are making it out to be. It's Xbox. Everything gets blown out of proportion or is this or that because it's not Sony doing it.

Xbox One X is no longer manufactured. People BUYING REFURBISHED Xbox One X consoles on Amazon should probably tell them something but if not, that's on them.

How can you actually say there was "no chance" people bought the wrong console? Do you think sales for that console just coincidentally happened to go up 700%+ on the day preorders for the new console went up and nothing more? I wouldn't at all be surprised if quite a few parents bought it quickly trying to get it for their kid and didn't pay attention to the details, its on them, but don't understand how you can state so emphatically this isn't the case.

Talking point online is about a "700%" increase in Xbox One X sales today on Amazon

Xbox One X has been out of production since July and selling extremely low volume all summer. A 700% increase in raw units is small. One X won't be on store shelves alongside Series X in November

So while feeling for the "confused gamer" is entertaining

A) This is actually a relatively small actual number

And

B) you can't get confused between an Xbox One X and Xbox Series X this Holiday. Because most retailers won't have One X. It's not even being built anymore


Moral of the story

Don't just latch onto headlines. Gotta do the research first

This "700%" volume increase on One X won't even be enough to shift its NPD number by much more than a couple thousand units at absolute best

Bots is what got that spike of the few x consoles left from third party sellers.

This is not gamers wanting the series x and got the wrong one by spending more money then it cost and ordering a listing that says discontinued and being delivered in 3 days when it comes in November

I don't honestly care either way, I have no skin in the game but was curious how you were so absolute with what you were saying. I don't pretend to know if some soccer Mom's bought this thinking they had somehow found a deal or bots weren't properly setup as having never used a bot in my life I can't attest to how they operate etc. was just genuinely curious what information led to you being so adamant about it all.

I said no chance it was bought in masses which you do not need inside info just common sense.

MS discontinued the XBOX ONE X months ago. No stores have had any for months and neither have any reputable online retailers. The ones on Amazon are from third party sellers who already bought it but are reselling them just like buying on ebay or Craiglist. There is a small amount of xbox one x on the reseller accounts and if some bought it thinking otherwise it would be a small irrelevant amount but that is on them because

They are supposed to be pre ordering yet those are shipped and delivered within a week and it says DISCONTINUED on the listing and is being sold for more money than series X.

Whatever number is sold by those third party sellers of xbox one x is not going to count as sales for MS since those are reseller purchases. And the item was discontinued months ago.

If the console was still being sold and shipped, I would 100% agree it was an issue but this is nothing and more likely bots who got screwed.

Expensive, but I figured as much. My thought is that I can use my 1T regular HD i currently use to back stuff up and just manage what I've got on my system. I'm sure the Sony approved HDs won't be any different.

Just pre-order my SSD card & I have an extra Xbox One HDD for older titles.

Nearly $300 (with a 2 - year protection), so I'm gonna stick with NBA 2K21 & Cyberpunk 2077 for now.
