Wonder what's the chance of us seeing Madden or 2k

Madden's hype train usually starts around now. Typically most of the info is released May to early July(Online information). I think Microsoft has a marketing deal with EA, so there is a chance. But, EA has yet to confirm their EA Play 2020 plans. I wouldn't be surprised if they push their EA Play to late June/early July since sports games are the usually the nearest games to release for EA and uncertainty about sports seasons.
2k definitely no chance. 2k usually isn't promoted until July. 2k is apart of the IGN summer digital conference. I still don't see them revealing NBA 2k there. They usually show stuff at Gamescon, but that was cancelled. But the main problem with 2k is the current NBA season vs. Next season and we don't know when the draft will be. We aren't sure when or if they will continue the current season and if next one will start in December. Then the draft wouldn't happen until current season is over or cancelled.

With Sports games being the precursor for the sports season, I think the sports games will stay within the month of start of the 20-21 seasons. I have lesser doubts that the NFL season will start on time versus NBA season not starting until possibly December. So, I expect the Madden info rollout to be as normal. But NBA 2k is tricky. Do you release game in early September, when possibly the current NBA season just ended. And/or do you release in early September when possibly the 20-21 season doesn't start until December. That's a possible 3 month gap between game and season actually starting. If the next season doesn't start on time, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the NBA 2k21 is delayed into a cross-gen launch title for next gen. I would rather stay within a month of 20-21 season starting and using that extra time to release higher quality game

Six days to go!!! So very hyped!!!

Assassin's Creed VALHALLA has been confirmed to have their reveal gameplay trailer and im expecting Cyberpunk 2077, Outriders, Dying Light 2 and Elden Ring to be on the showcase. And if rumors are accurate that Microsoft has the marketing deal for it then we could definitely see Watch Dogs Legion as well.

Can't wait to see what these games look like running off Xbox Series X as that's how I will be playing all of them. Is it November yet???

I'm definitely looking for to the Inside Xbox. Next gen games were the main things I was waiting for. I'm hoping to see a generational leap in gameplay not just graphics. I just hope it isn't just CG trailer and/or games shown on Xbox 1X version. I want to see actual Series X gameplay

From what I understand, all the games that will be shown are in-game running on Series X and is all gameplay. Would defeat the purpose if it's not.

Will we need new TV's to take advantage of the Series X? Assume none are on the market yet?

At bare minimum, I think 4k 120hz should be good enough. But if you want to take advantage of next gen hardware, then you would want a 4k TV that has HDMI 2.1, VRR, DLI, Freesync, and other techy stuff lol. I hear that LG B9/C9/CX are good 4k TVs for gaming. Also higher tier Samsung are more likely to have the AMD Freesync tech while the LG tvs mostly have G-Sync. I'm more than certain these TV companies will start hyping TVs that are compatible starting in summer. So I expect to see Black Friday deals for those compatible Tv's.

Its funny because my stepson wants his mom to buy him a Series X for Xmas. He has no idea of needing a compatible TV. He just wants the most powerful console. I gave him one of my old Tv's and that TV does at best 1080i lol. I've been debating on getting a newer TV. The TV I have in my room can do 4k 120. But it will be 3 years old by November so It won't have the HDMI 2.1 and other features. But I know if I really want to get a new TV this year. I barely used the TV in my room in the last 5 months. I already have the money saved up for console. But don't really want to dish out at least $2000 for a Console and TV(not counting games), then debating on getting new phone and labtop. If it is a situation where a compatible TV has a black Friday deal for $800-1000, I might be tempted. If not, I'm okay with waiting a year.

                  Thanks

Yeah, this could get expensive haha. Series X and looks like I'll need a TV with HDMI 2.1 that doesn't crush the wallet.

I’m not certain but I think the C9 is around $1300 for the 55” and should still be more than good enough for next gen. My hopes is that by Black Friday that TV or something similar goes under $1000

It’s going to be a situation where some people are going to have to spend $2200-2500+ at launch when you consider console, tv, multiple games, another controller, and any other compatible devices. I’m definitely not going to be one of them lol

Only enthusiasts will need a new TV. Most will be just fine with any 4K TV.

I agree. Unless it is a great deal, I’m more than fine with my 4K TV. I don’t want to upgrade unless TV feels outdated or great deal

Thanks, that's what I want to hear. I'm definitely not an enthusiast so spending a ton on a new TV isn't something I'd want to do but had no idea if the normal 4K TV's will still be fine for the Series X.

Just had no idea what additions beyond a normal 4K TV will bring.

5/7 it's just the first of monthly Series X news events.

[Editor’s Note on 8/7/2020 – Xbox has a massive year ahead of us, as outlined below. After reassessing our programming for the rest of the year, we’ve decided to stop using the “Xbox 20/20” phrasing as it implied that we would be releasing information in one way only, through a dedicated monthly show.  We’ve got […]

I'm loving what Microsoft is doing with the Xbox brand and lead up to Series X right now. They have been on fire and hitting on all cylinders since X019.

Greenberg said the show is under an hour so probably in the 40 minute range. Expecting around 8 or so games to be shown all running off of Series X and like stated in that article, fully optimized as well. Expecting them to be with Microsoft in terms of who has the marketing deal and a few of them if not all of them to be in the Smart Delivery program which allows you to buy the Xbox One version and upgrade to the Series X version for free.

Haven't been this hyped for Xbox since Gears 3 in 2011. Two more days to go!!! Let's go, let's go!!!

TV wise, im all in on the LG CX 55" OLED later this summer. Want to be 100% ready for next generation!!!
