Re: Xbox Series X ($499) and Xbox Series S ($299) Release on November 10, Pre-Orders
Those that have the LG CX OLED purchased for next gen consoles or even last years oled or samsung qled
This is why I posted that the fact that HDMI 2.1 is super important and has zero to do with games being 4k 120fps is important.
Xbox series S/X have full HDMI 2.1 features which I list below
Auto Low Latency Mode:
When you plug in the xbox s/x consoles the tv automatically recognizes the console and turns on instant game response which puts the console in game mode. When you turn the feature ON within the xbox settings it then puts the HDMI input where you have the system plugged in and into game mode when starting a game. When you go back to the dashboard it puts the picture settings back to your calibrated mode for watching movies or tv or netflix etc etc. This is missing on PS5
Variable Refresh Rate VRR:
This is the HDMI 2.1 feature similar to FreeSync which allows the tv to refresh at the same herts that your game is refreshing at to eliminate screen tearing and make images smoother. So any Frames per second that dips from say 60fps to 57 or 56 fps will not be felt and will be smooth. This is missing from PS5 even though the specs on Sony site say it has it but my guess is that it will be put out via a firmware update which I sent them a tweet about it.
Native 1440p 120hz or Native 4k 120hz:
This is one that always gets me with people who have no clue. They think this means nothing because we are not gaming at 120fps at 4k in these consoles and I agree but it has ZERO to do with that. If your console is doing from the settings 4k 60hz then all is good but if a game has adaptive sync like Modern Warfare on xbox one x last year it will have tons of screen tearing. When you set the xbox one x to 1440p and 120hz you lost HDR but you also eliminated screen tearing and lowered the input lag. Series X/S once again allow the user to set the console to do 1440p 120hz or 4k 120hz now with HDMI 2.1
It means that in a tv like the LG OLED CX the input lag at 4k 60hz is 13.6 ms which is great for a tv but not near the level of what you get with a good monitor. But settings the console at 1440p 120hz last year put the input lag on xbox from 13.5 to 6.9ms which is a huge drop and super impressive. You lost HDR but now with HDMI 2.1 you can do full 4k 120hz with HDR and the input lag will be 6.7 ms. On PS5 according to Digital Foundry you cannot manually set the PS5 to do 120hz. It does not offer 1440p resolution but it cannot do manual 4k 120hz. It engages 120hz automatically depending on the game. So a game like Dirt 5 that has that setting the PS5 will engage 120hz but once you turn the game off it goes back to 4k 60hz. This means that on PS5 you cannot get the big drop in input lag. I tweeted Sony about this as well which is highly disappointing.
Look at the input lag numbers for the OLED CX below and it is even better on Samsung QLED

I did some research on FedEx's signature stuff, and it said that if it's not under shipment facts, then you don't have to sign, and it doesn't say anything about having to sign.
I'll be ready just in case. I just hope it doesn't come while I have to be away for an hour.Comment

I certainly hope they don’t. I work nights and there’s no UPS or FedEx store here lol. My wife’s iPhone didn’t require one so I hope it’s the same.

Re: Xbox Series X ($499) and Xbox Series S ($299) Release on November 10, Pre-Orders
Had an XSX in the cart with Target, went to checkout and pay with my credit card.
Credit card randomly declines and I had to wait to get an email to "recognize the purchase".
By the time I did that, all the consoles in Houston were sold out.
On that note, going to bed. Lol.Rice Owls - Houston Astros/Dynamo/Rockets/Texans - Arsenal - PSGComment

Just checked my local Walmart site. In store pick up available, Xbox Series x consoles are in stock. However I'm not getting one for at least a year. I hope it's this easy on Thursday with the PS5.Comment

Re: Xbox Series X ($499) and Xbox Series S ($299) Release on November 10, Pre-Orders
Same with a few Walmarts near me, just not sure if I'm supposed to order online and pick up or go to the store and get it around 12. Did a chat online this morning with Walmart.com and they said to go to the store and get it but I thought that wasn't supposed to be happening like that this time around. I'll call shortly after they open.

Re: Xbox Series X ($499) and Xbox Series S ($299) Release on November 10, Pre-Orders
That's what's up. I was going to try the same thing. Not everyone in my area goes out looking for a new system on release day. I remember waiting at a Walmart until midnight for the XB1. I ran into an old friend, and were both able to get one, after a few preorders were picked up.
But I got the series X this morning shortly before 1:30. It's ready for pickup. I think certain areas are easier for getting in store pickups.Comment
