Is there no way for companies/websites to prevent someone using that bot script? I would think that they have protocols in place for that stuff but obviously not.


At this point, I just hope I can snatch an Xbox Series X at Best Buy or Amazon online or in store at GameStop. Thankfully, GameStop doesn't open until 12pm EST so I have plenty of time between trying to get one online and then going to GameStop.

I am holding out hope that whatever Sony has cooked up in their pre-order event process tomorrow will get me one. Not super confident the way this whole thing has gone.

And I get to do it all again on Tuesday...

That’s your best bet. I’m preordering mine in person. Not taking chances with the bots since Microsoft already gave a set time.

Agreed. My plan is to have a tab open with everything set for Best Buy and Amazon and regardless if im able to get either or both, im still going to GameStop. My worry is that I pre-order one and then for whatever reason, it gets cancelled.

I can always pick up and return the console at Best Buy and GameStop if I have to or if there's a delay with Amazon which is always possible, cancel that once.

I went to GameStop today a few minutes before 12pm EST but they sold out last night. They obviously didn't get many. But luckily, there was only 15 people outside ahead of me and being realistic, I would think that it would be less people waiting on line for an Xbox Series X.

But we'll see. In the mean time, im still trying to snatch a PlayStation 5.

This info from a twitter dev who has members of dev teams on discord is saying that these are the CPU/GPU numbers for PS5

CPU/GPU
3.2ghz/1.8ghz
2.0ghz/2.2ghz
3.5ghz/1.2ghz

If this is factual then PS5 will be severly underpowered compared to Xbox series X which is locked on their numbers

Whenever the cpu ghz of ps5 reaches 3.5 which is max that is close to series x the gpu downthrotles to 1.2ghz which is about a 5.5 TFLOP

The PS5 GPU 2.2ghz is max that brings it to 10.3TFLP but that means the CPU is then dropped to 2.0ghz compared to series X at 3.6

This might be what you will see later in the gen when games start to get better and the specs are harder to justify at that time which wont be a big deal early on but still not a good thing. This tells me a PS5 PRO is definitely coming

Not to get off topic but I follow a bot team over on Twitter just for the hell of it to see what they're targeting. Here is an example of what I meant about bots, this particular person was able to snag 14 pairs of Jordan's at random sizes all because they use a bot. This is why things can sell out so fast. No guarantee they are doing the same for the PS5 or will for the Xbox but seems logical that they could and would.

Yeah anything with resale value gets bots nowadays. Even Funko Pops which are cheap pieces of plastic get snapped up instantly. As bad as last night was I’m glad PS5 dropped how it did otherwise bots would have them all.

Kodai is a beast. I bot sneaker sites myself. I know for sure Walmart was botted today by people. Kodai is around 6k+ tho

The thing about these bots are they have to support the website and not many support electronic sites.
