Order went through for Target Bummer that the estimated delivery date is 11/13 - 11/18 but hopefully it'll be a pleasant surprise.

      Complete **** show last night.

Half my Battlefield clan was in a party chat talking while they kept refreshing Bestbuy lol. A few were able to get through with the disk version and by using paypal as a payment method, but I had no luck. I got to the last processing screen about 12 times and it kept kicking me back. I know I was close because paypal kept e-mailing me asking if I signed in lol.

I'm not really bummed or anything and there's still time. If I can't get one I'll survive and will get one at a later date, but for $400 it's easy to rationalize considering that is how much I paid for the PS4 Pro. I'm sure there's a lot less of those (digital) being manufactured because they seem like they would lose Sony money at that price even without the disk drive.

After a good 5-6 hours was able to get the digital edition through best buy. Right around 3 am est. Wild. Never been apart of something like this before, is this how it always goes? Sheesh.I too am trying not to get my hopes up too high half expecting to get a cancellation email.

I’m only holding on to 2 because i have a feeling I won’t be getting the Best Buy one. They haven’t charged anything at all. So if I can get the Best Buy one which is the digital one I’ll keep that one and cancel my Amazon
Man don't cancel it, sell it use the extra money towards your system.

Got two on Amazon last night, one digital and one disc, wanted two digital. One was for my son. He has saved birthday money and chore money and had exactly $400. Went ahead and used two Amazon accounts and two different cards just in case one limit per card or something. Got both confirmation emails. A little later I got a cancelled Email for the disc version. Couldn’t charge my card. Went and looked, I put the wrong expiration date in. Damn. 😩😩😩

I’m actually a bit surprised that the digital version seems be be in a much lower supply. Yeah the disc version is 100 bucks more, but they have also sunken costs in the unit for the disc hardware. On the other hand, the digital version is like a cash cow for them long term as you are only going one place for games and that’s the PS Store. It will be like a money tree for them. JMO

That's a really good point. There's a lot of little nuances like that to factor in now instead of how it used to be to determine success. They will definitely make a lot from their cut of video game sales and I wasn't really thinking of it that way.

What is the difference between digital and disc version ??

Is it only that one has a disc drive/blu Ray player and one doesn’t ??

All other specs are the same ?

Not like the Xbox S and X where the specs change between the two ?

Yes only difference is disc drive. So one is all digital and is traditional way to play games. Besides that same performance and specs between the two.

This is definitely not how it always goes. I think Sony made a mistake by telling people pre-orders would start today and not enforcing that at all like Microsoft has done.

Tried for several hours on Best Buy. Made it all the way to checkout. Then it kept asking me to pick a store for pickup, I would pick the store, it wouldn't take it and then give me an error that I needed to pick a store for pickup. Kept trying that over and over and then it finally just removed the console saying it wasn't available (I also had an extra controller and the charging station in the cart).

                            Oh well.

Lol....I think it was a clever move. When you're competing with a Trillion Dollar company you better be shrewd. They've got the drop on Microsoft by putting this out for preorder 1st by selling out their units in the market place. Not many people will afford multiple units and they know it. I'm sure when Microsoft announced their retail prices Sony cringed because Sony will lose $'s in the early rounds but they know they'll recoup it at a later time.

Good thoughts... though I'm questioning their inventory...if MS has a lot more, especially the digital which Sony is seemingly limiting, it will be interesting.

Shrewd vs lying is different tho...kinda dirty to say PS5 is a whole new gen then backtrack. Something Sony guys would rail on MS if they did
