Re: PlayStation 5 ($499) and PlayStation 5 Digital Edition ($399) - Releases on Novem
I hope Sony gets things fixed soon the system has more issues than normal from a Sony console I would say. I know no system is perfect and you tend to have more issues at launch but I am hearing more issues around the internet it seems than I heard with ps3 or 4 and I am having more issues my self. I just had a few hours ago my system shut its self of while I was playing that is the second time it has happened and than when I turned it back on it had to do the usb fix thing and even after that I had to unplug the system and turn it back on to get the system to work again and that is the same thing has the first time I had the system shut of. I have also had the system freeze like 2 times and I have had a few times where patches didn't want to install or a game didn't want to install. Just way more issues than normal for Sony kind of disappointed right now.Comment

I am not surprised people are having a hard time finding the system. I said back around the time preorders went up that if you didn't get a preorder in that you would likely not be able to get the system before 2021. Systems are always kind of hard to find at first and even more so Sony consoles and with a pandemic and spiderman mm being a launch game I think the demand is even higher than normal.Comment

Re: PlayStation 5 ($499) and PlayStation 5 Digital Edition ($399) - Releases on Novem
I disagree a bit here. Sony/MS should've known that bots were going to be an issue after what happened with the Switch or even their own pre-order releases. They essentially did nothing about it on a grand scale.
The answer here was obvious. You knew that mega retailers like Walmart, Amazon, and Target were never going to change their purchasing methods for three products so they should've provided more supply to Gamestop, Best Buy, etc. who have a vested interest in keeping their consumers happy in the electronics space. They definitely could've came up with something that limited this. It wouldn't completely solve the issue but it would help.
Instead, they just put their hands up while systems just sit on ebay and stockx not being played.
Then you mention providing more supply as if Sony is purposefully holding back inventory just because. I'd wager they'd sell every unit they made as opposed to purposefully holding units back for no apparent reason.
This was an odd release because of the virus impacting not just how people can purchase the system but the sheer quantity that would be available to purchase in the first place. Any company that produces limited quantities has been fighting bots for years and this is no different, as others have mentioned.
Lastly I know some have mentioned pre-orders in store and how they should have allowed that. Well Gamestop did allow that and then proceeded to oversell their preorders leaving people with no system anyways so not like that would have been a full proof answer either.

I’m not anti capitalism but hoarding consoles and selling at twice the price to **** the true consumer is terrible. What’s next toilet paper scalping? Sugar? Then we are no different than Nazi Germany or Cold War era USSR...

the only consumer paying twice the price for a console is the consumer who wants to.OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

And exactly how do you recommend them regulating that?

Well I like the idea of selling to people exclusively for a couple of weeks who have had psn accounts that have made x amount of purchases. These could been done with invite only online events. Circle in the retailers to make them not feel left out. There are ways they just didn’t give a **** and made it a free for all when they knew they had low inventory for whatever reason

Yeah let’s punish those who don’t spend money on PSN or punish Xbox users coming to PlayStation... or even brand new console players. Not how business works. They’re selling out, business is booming. That’s how it works. No matter what companies might make you think or you think they think.. loyalty to them is nothing. It’s always about the numbers.
I don't get why people don't get this. This same thing is happening in the Madden forum. Any company owes you nothing. Companies exist to make money. Period.
You may not like scalpers, and I don't either, but Sony already sold the system. They don't care what the person they sold it to does with it.Last edited by PVarck31; 11-29-2020, 04:51 PM.Comment
