I need to get a digital version. Do those pop up when the disc version does?

Even though I have not used rest mode a single time because of all the reports about having issues with it I turned of all the rest mode settings to try to make sure it's not some how going into rest mode or getting those problems that people are having with rest mode. Will see if I stop getting the shut downs but I just had another freeze where I had to unplug the console has it would not turn of with the controller or with pushing the power button on the system either. It's getting to the point where when I play I am almost expecting the system to freeze to shut down. If Sony don't release a update that seems to fix things soon I am going to have to give them a call.

I just want to say, after originally wanting the digital version, I’ve already saved way more than $100 by having a disc version.

Unless you’re 1000% sure you will never use the disc drive, I’d fork the extra $100 for the disc version. Not for everyone, but something to think about.

To be fair the number of units with issues compared to how many are in use is miniscule. I plan on waiting a while before buying anyway.

So I had another freeze last night getting to the point where I am like expecting the system to shut down or freeze when I play yeah its been that bad. So I just did reset the console and did the rebuild database thing and reinstalled my 6 games I have spiderman mm, spiderman remaster, sackboy, preinstalled astro bot game, Immortals Fenyx rising, watch dog legion. Hopefully I will have a lot less issues now with this or maybe we will get a update or 2 that fixes things so. Will see in the next week or so if I am getting system shut does and freezing and such. If I am still having issues in a few weeks I will have to call Sony. I am not sure if systems will be in stock yet by the time Best Buy and their return date pass for me to try to do an exchange or not and I really don't want to have to send it in to Sony.

Yeah, people read all these reports and think it’s widespread. Not hardly.

Of course you aren’t gonna read reports of how awesome it’s working. As with anything, you always read the negatives way more than the positives. Just the way it works.

If it makes you feel better to try and justify not being able to find one, great. But it’s not like either of the consoles are nothing but problems, quite far from it.

What in the blue hell happened with Walmart? I just happened to be there and walking through electronics and they had a whole bunch of PS5's.

Wasn't planning on getting one, and I didn't, as much as I wanted to. But apparently Walmart's everywhere have a whole bunch in the stores.

I wonder if this is a move agreed upon by Sony and Walmart?

I have a bunch of credit at Gamestop so I'm just gonna wait till I can get it there. But it would have been nice to have the PS5 along with my XSX tonight. Oh well. I wasn't gonna pay a ton out of pocket when I have a bunch of credit at Gamestop.

That’s surprising sometime that works at Walmart told me a rumor her store was getting in 3 but couldn’t confirm. Sounds like your store is just a lucky one

You will get a new system faster if you go through Sony. Best Buy will likely give you a refund.

Sony will ship you a box overnight with an overnight return label. Once it’s delivered to them, they will send you a PS5 with a day or two. Return shipping back to you is also a day or two.

Wasn't just my store. Walmart's around the country had them tonight. Workers were literally rolling out pallets of them in stores.

Was at best buy today and found out they are keeping a few extra in case people have issues with there's. I was able to exchange mine hopefully this one has less issues. Just got home about to set it up and reinstall my games while I watch nfl. Hopefully I have a lot less issues this time.

Good luck. Hope the new console works perfectly for you so you can get back to playing some games.

Thinks will likely not play tonight with it getting late and installing things again. With the one I had I think I had 2 shut downs in just day 1.

Damn. A good way to tell if your console will give you issues or not is by looking on the back/underneath label and look for the manufactured date. While not a guarantee, the newer the build, the better your chances are of not having any issues.
