Re: PlayStation 5
Is it worth trying to get a PS5 if I currently have a PS4 Pro?
May have the opportunity to get one soon, but didn't know if anyone sees a big difference between the two consoles.Comment

Re: PlayStation 5
I think it's a yes for me too.
I wouldn't kill myself trying to get one but if PS Direct has a queue or you have a good chance to get one then I would get in it for sure because they aren't going to be easy to get for a long time and worse case scenario you eat the eBay fees and get your money back or make a little money if you find you don't really like the upgrade. I occasionally mess around with the kid's PS4 Pro and I could not go back to the sluggish menu, download speeds, load times, etc.
Even for me playing some older games like The Division 2 it made all the difference being able to play at a stable 4K 60HZ.
The most obvious enhancement of and older game has to be Ghost of Tsushima. I'm jealous of people who get to play it for the first time on the PS5.Last edited by AUChase; 11-16-2021, 10:24 AM.Comment

Re: PlayStation 5
While there certainly doesn't seem to be "need" to get one right now, if you can get your hands on one for retail price you won't regret it. Faster load times, old games even if not optimized just seem to run better, dualsense controller and compared to a PS4 pro you'll think the console isn't on because it's so quiet.
Playing with the DualSense controller might be reason enough on it's own to upgrade. Also definitely play Astros Playroom when you do get your console, it's not only a great showcase for the new controller capabilities but a good game as well.

Re: PlayStation 5
I wouldn't feel a strong need to upgrade from PS4 Pro to PS5 any time soon. I went straight from PS4 to PS5, and most of the upgrades I've been enjoying are things that the Pro already had. 4K res, better framerate, etc. It's not like there are dozens of amazing PS5 exclusive game releases that are can't miss right now, let's be honest.Comment

Re: PlayStation 5
Believe it.
Huge difference when playing online between the two consoles. When playing War Thunder on the PS5, I don't miss a beat against the PC people.
Playing the Show, Madden, NBA 2K, noticeable difference.
Playing PSVR on the PS5, HUGE difference.Comment

PS4 pro had the resolution but not the frame rates which to me is a lot more important. Even ps4 pro games like last year’s MLB the show runs natively in 4K and 60fps where it was only able to run 1440p at an unsteady 60fps on the pro.

Re: PlayStation 5
I think this is going to be my play here as well. I've barely played anything across my current consoles the last 6 months, so no reason to try and find a new console. I'm also still waiting for the "system seller" games to be released; I haven't seen them yet.Currently Playing:

Re: PlayStation 5
Bit the bullet yesterday and got the PS5. Got the email on Monday from Sony direct that I had the option of buying it yesterday. After some internal debate, and coninvincing of the wife, decided to purchase it since there's no telling when I would get the chance again.
Buying from Sony Direct is the way to go. Very easy process and don't feel rushed in having to make the purchase. If you can do it that way, then I highly recommend it.
