Yeah, PS Now is being merged into PS Plus. PS Now cards have already been pulled from UK if I remember correctly.

Rumor has it that it's going to be three tiers. Below is what has been rumored for all three tiers. Majority believe that it's fake but I think it's going to be pretty close to what it ends up being. I'm not expecting any first party day one games though.

State of Play is rumored for February 3rd. I never get excited for State of Play because they're usually announced a few days beforehand and is never of anything of substance. The individual game State of Plays like Horizon Forbidden West are good but that's it.

The major event would be if it's a PlayStation Showcase which usually gets announced a week before so you know it's a bigger show.

I'm always hoping for PlayStation Showcase over State of Play.

If this is true, wonder why not put same day release on say a Tier 4? Those Tiers look extensive, especially getting PS1,2, and 3. Wonder how much will each Tier be? Also, getting to play PS1, PS2, and PS3 games on your PS5 will be a "big bang" for those nostalgic folks.

        Re: PlayStation 5

An unannounced Playstation Event and Playstation Plus merging with Playstation Now,, Playstation 1, Playstation 2, and Playstation 3 games into a Tiered system has been rumored for a while now, whether called Project Spartacus or something today.

Every month or so, there is a rumored event and a rumor that it will be announced there.

It is going to happen, eventually. But take the rumors with a grain of salt. They are all there because people want to be able to say they were the first that leaked it.

The graphic being passed around with the Tiers listed is fake.

I think 4 tiers becomes a little too many. Also depends on how much each tier would cost a month. I wish Sony would put their exclusives on tier 3 at least. I figure $10, $15 and $20 or $10 and $20 if it's 2 tiers. Would much rather spend $20 for a monthly rental instead of $70 for each of Sony's first party games. But of course, I don't see that happening.

I would love a monthly rental especially for $20. As someone with limited time, a month is enough time to beat a game and get what I want out of it.

There's a lot of those games I'm interested in, but don't want to pay full price for it and not necessarily wait until it drops down. $20 is reasonable for a monthly rental

I thought the feb 3 thing was GT7 and that a state of play was rumored for the 10th? Yeah at some point sony will announce more things has right now we really only have games that are coming out in the next few weeks/months in Horizon FW, GT7, GOW Ragnork and at some point we will get a taste of more 2023 stuff likely later in the year maybe September again including game play of spiderman 2. For back half of 2022 and release it may be VR heavy and at some point we got to get VR2 price and release date.

Agreed. I only subscribe to Game Pass when there's a day one game (first or third party) that I want to play. I was never interested in Game Pass a few years ago but since their Xbox showcase in July 2020, I have been much more hyped and interested because getting all these games for a $10 monthly rental instead of having to pay $60+ when im not a collector is great.

I'm not an online gamer and I don't care about old games so unless Sony offers me first party games day one or at least some third party games day one that I actually want to play, their revamped PS Plus isn't going to do anything for me.

I hope they shock me but im not holding my breath.

GT 7 media event was a few days ago but was cancelled due to Sony releasing a few previews for Horizon Forbidden West. I don't know when they're doing that for GT 7.

Sony has a lot of stuff in development but with every company, Covid screwed up everything. And a lot of studios are still working from home depending on where they're based.

HFW and GT 7 for February/March should keep PlayStation fans busy until Sony has a showcase. It all depends on the showcase though. If it's State of Play, I never expect much. A few updates, AA and Indies. If they're going to reveal big AAA titles and whatnot, they'll save it for the PlayStation Showcase event.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sony releases PSVR 2 this year but at the same time, it's risky because it requires the console which you can't find and every shipment gets sold out instantly. Plus, depends on the cost. If it's $400+, you're looking at a minimum of $800 (PS5 Digital plus PSVR 2) and that's before any games and whatnot.

I still think that God of War Ragnarok gets delayed to Spring 2023 because I do believe this is the first game that will also release on PC day one. I can see TLOU Factions being released in the Fall. Also, there's rumors of the TLOU Remake being released in the Fall 2022.

We'll have to see what they do but right now, they don't need to do anything. Their PS5 console is selling out with every restock and they have two AAA top tier titles releasing within the next six weeks.

Not going to end 2022 and have no news about 2023 games.

Speaking of Gran Turismo 7, like BigBob says, it will be featured in their State of Play on Wednesday February 2nd at 5pm EST/2pm PST.

It's only January 31st and Sony will have a PlayStation Showcase either in June or September. They could do two of them but all depends on how much they have to show and what third party games they'll be showing.

But we're not even into February yet. No reason to worry about 2023 especially when 2022 is going to be stacked and packed.

Starting Friday, we have Dying Light 2, Horizon Forbidden West, Elden Ring, Sifu and a few others. March has Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, Gran Turismo 7 which I don't believe is being delayed and im pretty sure a few other AA titles like Shadow Warrior 3 are releasing that month. Plus, Dawn of Ragnarok expansion in March for AC Valhalla. And the Cyberpunk 2077 upgrade and first expansion could be around this time as well.

Unless you're only interested in Sony's first party games, you (and everyone else for that matter) should have plenty to play.

Natural extension to their ridiculous exclusive agreements with Destiny in the past.

Is Bungie doing anything more than Destiny right now or have announced anything beyond that? Destiny 2 is getting long in the tooth and thought it'd been on the decline for some time.

Still one of the best looking games on the market. The world building, engine and graphics work is second to none. Their middleware may be the real get here, outside of the headcount, IP and player base.

I don't think a Destiny 3 is profitable if it's just console exclusive, almost guaranteeing a PC release. No problems with that.

I don’t think they’ve done anything other than Halo and Destiny since the 90s. I believe they were coming off a couple of RTS game releases when Microsoft brought them in, and before that it was like old Mac OS games.

They must be heavily into Destiny 3 or whatever they’re going to call it. Maybe they can ride that out for as long as possible once it’s out and then put them on something interesting like a Resistance reboot or something.

Sony also has something of an answer now to the gaping Call of Duty sized hole in their catalog. No one else under Sony makes an FPS, right? Unless you think they’d go back to something like Killzone, but that seems unlikely at this point.
