Great month for Plus. Sword of the Sea so nice. So chill and beautiful game. Also some cool stuff for the family like Coral Island. It's basically a high graphic Stardew valley. Bummed UFC 5 was let go so quick, just got into and its already off.Comment

Not sure if you guys are familiar with Tom from Moore's Law is Dead, but his latest leak pegs the PS6 for a fall 2027 launch, with ray/path-tracing capabilities on par with that of a RTX 5090. Personally, I don't care for the guy, but he has a pretty solid track record for hardware leaks, and has been especially on the money with Sony related stuff going back a while now.
He had an even more interesting leak recently laying out a three tiered approach by Sony for their next gen launch. That leak detailed a base console and handheld console, both code named 'Canis', and a Pro version code named 'Orion'. I would assume these RT and PT performance claims are based on the hardware thought to be in 'Orion'.
Supposedly, the leaked documents have Sony concerned about pricing in particular, and that they're highly motivated to keep prices as "reasonable" as possible. The leaker goes on to guess at a range of $299-$399 for the handheld, $399-$499 for the base console, and $549-$699 for the pro. Take those prices with an entire case of salt, but I think the overall strategy and power goals are probably legit.

Personally, I want this generation to extend longer. I don't feel like we seen the peak of what the current hardware can do. It wasn't like the PS3 were it was obvious that the hardware hit it's peak. We're just now exiting the cross-gen phase. I wanted 2030, but knew that wasn't realistic. But, i rather see 2028
I just hope we see a big jump in CPU. I want to see a leap when it comes to the scale of what games can do. We're at the point of diminishing returns when it comes to graphics. I do imagine that AI will have a big impact on next generation game development

I also think they’re basically done with clear cut generations. Not only looking at the obvious stuff from the last several years, but now factoring in a new hardware floor with this supposed handheld, there’s no reason not to continue supporting the PS5 when in all likelihood it will probably perform close enough to the handheld.
In a way, you could look at that as the best of both worlds. If you wanted this gen to stretch to 2030, well for all intents and purposes, it’s going to go on at least that long.
