Originally posted by aukevinI didn't consider that an EMP, otherwise all the electrical stuff on the island would be dead (computers, washing machines, etc). I thought it was just a big magnetic pull like we saw at the end."Good music transcends all physical limits, it's more then something you hear, it's something that you feel, when the author, experience, and passion is real" - Murs (And this is for)Comment

Re: "Lost" Season 2 discussion thread (Spoilers for the West Coast)...
FYI, I checked the www.oceanicflight815.com boards, and it appears that the only people that saw it were on the HD channel. Those on the regular channel in the same markets said they didn't see it.
Not sure if it is supposed to mean anything, or if it was just something to get people talking, but I am definitely of the opinion that it was another plane crashing at the moment.Comment

Originally posted by USF11The giant doors also fall when it hits "0" maybe they shield the hatch from the effects of the emp.
Of course I would think if an EMP shutdown the plane, it would have fell from the sky and crashed rather than be ripped apart in mid air and then crashed. That would make me believe it was a magnetic pull from the island that pulled the plane apart. Also, if were an EMP, Michael isn't going to get very far on his boat, because he should end up like the Blackrock, not that he doesn't derserve it.Last edited by aukevin; 05-25-2006, 10:44 AM.

Originally posted by aukevinMaybe it's a magnetic pull inside the hatch and a EMP outside. We'll see. Would an EMP affect the radios that the survivors have? What about the drug plane's radio that Boone was using to talk to the tailies?

Originally posted by USF11I forgot about the plane breaking in half that definately changes things.
I think it's quite obvious that all these people were selected and 'guided' to get on that plane.
While up in the air, they experience some turbulance so that the oxygen masks descend. When they breath in the air it's actually gas that knocks them out.
The plane lands, and then all of them are given fake memories implanted in them that they crashed. Insert broken plane, scatter the still unconscience bodies about the beach and then wait for them to wake up.
I think that whole island is in a large dome someplace. Michael and Walt will never escape because their compass will always lead them back to the island due to the magnet.Comment

How'd the tailies get dropped in the water? They would drown if they were knocked out and placed there. And who the hell put Bernard in that tree when they crashed?Favorite Teams:

P.S. Is anyone else bothered with the huge writing flaw concerning Desmond? When Jack and John first find him, Jack asks him if he wonders if pushing the button is just a psychological prank to which Desmond responds "Everyday brother". And then when Locke tells him that he thinks the button is a joke too Desmond gets all concerned. Even up to the point where Locke and Desmond were reading the logs that Echo picked up from the other hatch Desmond was still unsure if the button was real or not. But then they show the scene where he lets the button get to 0 and then all hell breaks loose! After seeing that, surely Desmond would realise that the button needs to be pushed, wouldn't he?
The funny thing is, the actor that portrays Michael was a on a local radio station yesterday and he said that the writers are pretty much winging it day to day. Anna Lucile was never supposed to die but then the actress that plays her kept driving impaired so they wrote her off the show. "Michael" also said that him shooting Libby and Anna Lucile (who I'm glad is gone) was never intended from the beginning either. So maybe that would explain that writing whole with Desmond and the button.
P.S.S. I think it's obvious that Libby was hired by the Hanso group. If you check that website it states that it now needs a physchologist for anger management. That's pretty much what Libby was doing. Besides, can anyone really believe that someone would fall for a fat tard like Hurly without being paid to do it?Comment

Originally posted by JebbyI'm pretty sure Locke asked him if he ever thought that it was just a psychological prank and Desmond responded that he thought that every day. he thought it, he didn't necessary believe it.
Also, regarding my theory about everyone being gassed and placed on the beach, that would explain how a plane can wrip in half and crash and nobody was killed.Comment

The 'others' could have killed a few people to look legit.Comment
