Re: Another HDTV questions info thread
Oh sweet I've read some really good thing about those.Originally posted by rhellerI have last year's 50" model and simply love it. Did you have any questions?
I'm a HDTV noob so I guess what I need to know is what do I need to buy with the TV it self. I own a PS2, Xbox and a Sony DVD player so I'm guessing I'll need some kind of cables for those?... Also will I need to buy anything for the sound? Thanks

You don't really NEED anything to run your DVD, XBOX, PS2, but if you would like to take advantage of your HDTV, you should start by getting component cables. To play HD Xbox games I have the Xbox HD pack. As far as sound goes, I still have my HT in a box that I bought back in 2000. I do recommend getting a stand for the TV. (If you don't already have one) You should also do some research into how many HD channels are available to you in your area. Example: My cable company offers up 11 HD Channels, but my Mom's cable company (east coast) only offers 2 HD Channels. If you plan on getting your HD channels from Over the Air signals, you need to buy other things. I've never done it so I know nothing about it.I'm a HDTV noob so I guess what I need to know is what do I need to buy with the TV it self.
