I do also have an HDTV already, so this one would be for my bedroom

That Toshiba is rear projection, so technically it is suscepitble to burn in. Don't worry about it, though. Unless you play it every waking minute or leave it paused for a really long time you will be cool.

Another easy solution is to pick up a calibration disc or use one of the THX Optimizers and lower your contrast considerably. Most sets are too bright, and lowering the contrast will lower the risk of burn-in and prolong the life of your set.

Ok, I measured wrong, and I now know I need a HD TV that is less than 37" wide to fit in our damn Built-in in our new house. My current choice is this:

Toshiba 37" Widescreen Flat Panel LCD

Can anyone tell me their thoughts on either this TV or Toshiba's in general? I need to pick a TV either tonight or tomorrow before Comcast comes to do our install on the 10th...Thanks in advance!

check circuit city sites. They have reviews from people that bought from them. It is real helpful.

I have a Toshiba 57" rear projection and have played for hours on end with no issues.

Best Buy is having a sale on this TV. Could someone with more insight on HDTVs let me know if this is a good deal?

                      Sorry for the naivity.

                      But thanks for the help!

I don't have any actual experience on the set, but one thing did jump out...the fact that it only has ONE component input, and ONE DVI. Good if you only have a single game system and a cable box, not so good if you have more sources (though there have been some switch boxes that have received good reviews).

Once calibrated the CRT projection should have a damn nice picture though, but I've heard that RCA's customer service is severely lacking.

So the one component and one DVI means you could hook up a PS2 and cable box and thats it? That would mean no DVD player? We have a set of computer speakers, with a subwoofer and all, do you know if that would connect? Don't have anything else other than a PS2 so I don't think it will be a huge problem.

Do you know anything about the HDTV specs? Would there be a problem if we ordered the Brighthous Hi-Def service? What about for a next gen system like PS3 or Xbox 360?

Does this compare to the Texas Instrument DLP Technology? From what I can tell, every television manufacturer has their own terminology for HDTV, I guess I am just wondering if this will do the trick. Seems a little too good to be true...

                          Thanks again

As a rule of thumb you should get a HDTV that supports 2 component inputs & 1 HDMI or DVI conection.. My TV has 3 component & one HDMI.. I have my Xbox 1 & 2 hooked up to 2 components, & the PS3 will take the other component..My HDMI will be used for my HD DVD player I will be getting later this yr..You really want a TV that gives you a lot of HD options..I have 7 inputs total, including VGA..

CRT technology is still superior to the other newer technologies out today..That includes TI's DLP technology..

                            The different Television technologies are
                            CRT (Tube)
                            Plasma
                            LCD
LCOS, which includes Sony's SXRD & JVC's DILA displays
                            DLP

                            & on the rise
                            LED & SED..

I have a small question. I own the Samsung TXR2678 26" HDTV (small I know) and just bought a new indoor antenna for it lastnight. It seems to work good so far but I noticed that when I auto programmed the channels it didn't include channel 22-1. Any way for me to get that back? I tried using the add/delete function but it went straight from regular channel 22 to channel 23. Is there a way to reset the tv and start over? I tried unplugging it for a bit but that didn't work. Any help is appreciated.
