The $10 does not include locals, it does include ESPN HD, ESPN HD is not in HD all the time, only certain games.

The advantage to having cable hd is you don't have to buy any special equipment, and they have most of the locals (not all) in HD>

as far as set top boxes go, i have the hughes platinum set top box. this both recieves the OTA digital signals (from my antenna) and the HD signals from the satellite.

there are many different ones, but it all depends on your preference. i got the hughes just because my tv doesn't have the DVI input

dvd players are different, most put out a 480p signal, that's progressive scan. although samsung has come out with a dvd player that is capable of displaying a 1080i signal. but there aren't really and dvd's that will currently use this technology.. the only one is i believe the terminator 2 deluxe pack or something

Can you elaborate on this one? So, if I had the HD satelite from DTV, I could buy this top box instead of the DTV HD receiver?
