Bascially its a better chip and it will be used with a new 7 segment color wheel. Here's a summary of the Samsungs coming out and the RCAs out now.

You don't need to watch regular TV via stretch mode, but that doesn't mean your PQ will be a lot better. If you do watch 4:3 non stretched material for a long period of time on the TV you plan to get, you run the risk of burn in.

If it's going to be that quality on non-HD games then why do people get it??

Any one who has one will probably say because of HD! Yeah, I don't get every game that I want in HD now, but the stuff that I do get is amazing. I've been able to see the NCAA Final Four, the Masters, Boxing (Ruiz/Oquendo & Bird/Gollata), and various NBA and MLB games in HD. On a normal week now I get at least 6-7 MLB games in HD. (Most Padre games are in HD, INHD, and ESPN-HD)

Don't worry too much about the non-HD stuff. You'll either:

            1. Adjust to the okay to poor analog signal

            or

            2. You'll watch whatever comes in via your HD signal.

BTW, I have HBO and Showtime and those come in with excellent PQ (even when it's not in HD)

            Good Luck with your purchase
