Goodfellas for me..best "gangsta" movie ever IMO.

Casino is damn good though.

Lol I'm Canadian also but maybe it's because I'm 100% Sicilian. They are 2 excellent movies. If you guys like these types of movies check out Donnie Brasco. Excellent movie aswell.

Something about the allure of Vegas that gets my nod. Goodfellas was good as well but I did'nt really like the end all to much.

all the votes for Casino in the thread are void from here on out. as someone else said, Goodfellas is the greatest gangster movie period. and one of the best movies ever imo.

to whoever mentioned Donnie Brasco, that's definitely another great one. i couldn't help but feel bad for Lefty the entire movie. Pacino played the pitiful role well and Johnny Depp was just amazing. the way his entire personality changed because of his affiliation with the mob was just interesting to watch. i think it's also funny to compare this to Goodfellas because they were two different classes of Gangsters. in Goodfellas they pull off a million dollar heist and in Donnie Brasco they're doing all this low end crime.

i know Blow isn't really a "gangster movie", but it's another one of my favorites. Depp was great in this as well and i watch it all the time.

Why is that? I'd say Casino by a nose hair so its not like I'm totally dissing Goodfellas. Both are great in terms of the story and quality so whats not to like. Goodfellas probably is the more popular since it came out first. Both classics no matter how you look at it.

I agree about Blow as well. Great film.

BTW, I think Scareface is the greatest gansta movie.

this is a no brainer for me...

GOODFELLAS.

the movie is flawless to me. the acting, pacing, dialogue, everything is just perfect. and i think the score in this movie is just beautiful, the scenes just synch so well with the music being played. i love Casino, but Goodfellas is the better movie.

New Jack City is a good movie, but that quote's hilarious.

Between Goodfellas and Casino, I choose Casino, by a hair. Despite getting the point, the ending to Goodfellas falls so flat compared to how incredible the first 7/8ths are. I watched a documentary on Henry Hill, and his life is actually a lot more interesting than depicted in Goodfellas after turning state evidence.

Casino is epic. Goodfellas is brilliant, but not epic.
