Hostel made 20.1 million and was #1 in the box office. Huge profits.

            Re: Hostel

This is more of a gore movie than horror. This movie would of been better if he had a story and better ending to it. The movie didn't even feel like a movie but just a bunch of tits and torture scenes.

Wow. I saw this last night, and let's just say it was a tad on the creepy side. I don't think I'll get it on DVD. Watching it once was enough. Not a bad movie, but just not something I'd watch on a regular basis. My fiance was the only girl in the entire theatre lol!!! "IM THE KING OF SWING!!!!!!"

One of my sisters loved both Saws...the other, well let's just say, she told me I can NEVER have Saw playing when she's in the house.

So...I've seen many mixed reactions, what's the final verdict on this movie?(Hostel) Is it worth seeing in theaters for 9 bucks or would it be better to just wait until dvd and rent it for 5? Also, I've heard it's a "blood-filled porno flick gone bad"...

The best way to describe Hostel IMO is it's like a car wreck. You drive by it, you're curious to see what it's all about, you look, then you wish you hadn't looked because you can't take away the images that youv'e seen. I really think the movie is worthwile to see if you are a horror fan because in my opinion it is truly a horrific movie but it's very brutally gory and it is not for the faint of heart. I literally slept very little after seeing it. I think this movie will put some people in therapy. Whoever came up with this entire concept was really a very sick person.

Actually, it's based off of real life events and happenings.

By the way, you didn't find the beginning of this movie way out in left field at all? It was dangerously off from the mid-end of the movie, which was the best part.

The ending was a little screwy, too... I didn't really like that either.

Well I felt like the beginning of the movie was definitely different than the rest of the movie because it had to be, you had to get to know the characters in order to care when they began to get tortured later in the movie.

I agree, with you, I didn't like the ending, it was too typical hollywood "happy" type ending. It would have been a much better movie to have had the thugs find the guy who survived at the end and then brought him back to the torture dungeons and have him meet a more realistic end.
