Blasphmy!! 24 is good, but The Shield is the best show on TV!

For long time watchers of the show was the death of the former president a total shock? I know the actor that plays him has a new show called THE UNIT coming out in March. Was the death of the girl in the car bomb shocking too? Was she a semi major player?

I got hooked at season 3 and quickly had to watch all the DVDs. This is definitely my favorite show on TV. Unfortunately for me, my wife doesn't care for it because of the violence, so I usually don't watch it live. I know if she actually sat down and watched an episode and knew what was going on she would be hooked too. Usually she walks in when Jack is blowing someone away and she doesn't stick around to see why he is doing it.

Both were VERY MAJOR players. Palmer was key in all seasons from being a Senator and presential candidate to President, to presidential consultant. Also, he is one of the few people Jack could trust and call a friend.

Michelle has been there since season 2. She was head of CTU and Tony's wife (who's been on the show since the beginning and Jack's brother-in-arms).

It was very shocking to see them go, I will miss both of them in the show a ton.

It's a matter of taste I guess. I've never cared for cop shows until THE SHIELD. I was very impressed with my first viewing of 24. Are there any seasons that fell off a bit?

Jack seems to be a bad a$$ right up there with Soprano and Mackey.

He was bad last night. There is a scene in season 3 that shows that he will do anything for his family, friends, and country. The question is which one does he put first? He has broken so many rules to protect his family and friends which have put him in situations where the government can't trust him, but I think Jack knows he is good enough to save all. And we have seen things that show he will do anything to protect his country. But I think in the end, if it came down to protecting the President or his daughter Kim, he would save Kim.

As for drop offs in seasons, I don't think so. I think they have all been great. I think in season 4, when the nuclear threat was finally conquered it was a little anti-climatic, but it was an awesome season nonetheless. I don't want to say much because I know you will be going back and watching them!

Man I am pumped for tonight.

So many questions that still have to be answered. Who are these people? Are they holding the airport hostage to force the President to sign the arms deal or the other way around? How the hell is jack gonna do his usual kick *** routine and escape?

Oh boy, gonna be a fun night.

Yeah it's definately a personal taste thing. I really thought I'd enjoy The Shield, but never could get really into it.

For me, Season 3 was the best. Season 1 was also very good because it started everything and really was a different type of TV. Seasons 2 and 4 were good, but they weren't great IMO. Parts of each season mesh together so if you want to know everything, you'd need to sit down and watch them all in order. Otherwise, certain things might not make sense or you might not pick up on some of the small things.
