Season 2's ending had little to no effect on season 3, nothing came of David Palmer's shaking hands with Mandy and being exposed to a virus.
That was LAME.
Season 3's ending (season 3 overall was just the weakest one, as far as I'm concerned) had Jack crying in his van after saving the country. The events in the show that preceded it was really anticlimactic to begin with.
Again, I repeat THAT was lame.

If Kiefer wasn't the lead character they'd have to change the name of the show to 12, because it would be canceled halfway through due to bad ratings.Comment

OH man! That was great!
Season 5 in China...Maybe Chase will return and help bail him out.
Then he will have the Chinese after him PLUS Logan's employers who you know will be after him.Comment

*** OBLIGATORY BASHING... THE UNTHINKABLE***
Man that ending was wack. Throwing the chinese in there and allowing a full season to pass without explaining any reason for the madness of the season in the first place is lame.
You have chracters important to the plot and you just leave them out.
You inject the VP then after the Sec of Defense tries to expose him with the VP standing there, you just take him off with no explanation.
You just take Wayne Palmer out of the show without explanation. Its not like his brother was killed or anything.
This was stupid. Dont give me the shallow assumption that the bluetooth gang just sold Jack out because he had goods on them. He didnt. He still doesn't know who they are.
With that, people in homeland, CTU, the first lady, Pierce, and Mike Novick all know the same information.
Isnt this the reason Tony and Michelle and DP, all of the others were also killed?
They take Jack out but not the president? Thats a poor explanation.
Then they go from the airfield to the Shanghai ship in about 2 minutes.
I love this show, but the writers come off as lame not knowing how to explain what the heck they are writing about in the 1st place.
Now you tell me I have to wait until January just to understand why it ended like it did.
You guys can rationalize the writing all you want, but they are awful closers.Comment

Re: ***OFFICIAL 24: Day 5 Thread - SPOILERS for West Coast***
I was hoping the German agent Jack double-crossed would appear in the end so they could have some kind of shootout. The Chinese plot was kind of predictable, but I'm sure with 6-9 months of writing they'll figure out some way to make next season better than this one.Comment

I'm disappointed.
Looking at the big picture, the finale wasn't that great. I'm dead tired right now so I'll have a long post looking back at the whole season and the various characters tommorow.
Just a quick thought before I head off, I can't believe Curtis Manning didn't make an appearance. His screen time was really cut back this season after last season where he had major storylines such as the relationship with Aisha Tyler's character and when he went to the McClennan Forester building.
On the positive side, Chloe's character has gotten bigger with each passing season.Comment

Re: ***OFFICIAL 24: Day 5 Thread - SPOILERS for West Coast***
Thats not a good explanation. Lots of main characters just disappeared without an explanation. Why string the audience along like that then just go on without saying anything about it.
If this was a movie, all you guys would smash it to high heaven.Comment
