I think it's great. My advice is do you think you would like it? Not just by what other people has said. A ton of us on here loved it, but about 3 have posted they haven't. It's all about different tastes. So the question is does this movie fit your type of humor?

Re: 40 Year Old Virgin
Good place for me to make the exact opposite post from most of what's in here...
I still stand by my take that "Virgin" was one of the best comedies of the last 15 years. I think a lot of younger people miss some of the jokes (remember he is 40 and most of the people he hangs with are late 20's and 30's).
ANYWAY.....
I finally saw "Wedding Crashers" on Saturday....
HIGHLY...HIGHLY dissappointing.... not even in the same league as "Virgin". Besides the 20 minute montage of all the weddings at the beginning, it was a NOT funny... and kind of a sappy chick flick. Every single scene after the original montage was a rehashed retread from 20 movies made before. I still laughed enough to make it a passable experience. But, it was nowhere near the hype. Vince Vaughn (who I have loved in the past) is becoming a characterature of himself. And Will Ferrel's cameo was flat out NOT funny (besides the fact that who didn't know that Ferrel was going to be Chaz from the first mention????).
Good concept... The wedding montage was great.... but overall sub-par movie.Listen to The Remodeling Clay Podcast!

Re: 40 Year Old Virgin
My girlfriend and I rented it this weekend. We turned it off in about 20 minutes. Well, I turned it off. She absolutely hated it and that was about 5 minutes into it. She told me I didn't have to but I could tell she was not into it at all.
I will probably watch the rest of it at home by myself some time this week but
I do have to agree with her to a point. The cursing in this movie is just excessive to the point of being stupid. To me even though the part I saw was not bad all the language was just getting distracting.
Do people really talk like that at work and even around there friends outside of work ? Or is it just me?
I realize some of it is for the sake of making people laugh but it just seemd overdone.Comment

I may watch it again, but for being a 2 1/2 hour movie, I just don't know if I can get into it at all.Comment

Yeah I think if you miss those jokes. You don't get the full effect of the movie.President of the Devils Den

HOWEVA.....
That's also how people talk...
I don't talk that way at my job, but that's not to say that I haven't worked at a few places and/or known people who have talked like that at work. And that's also part of the gag.Listen to The Remodeling Clay Podcast!

The act like David Caruso in "Jade" comment. How many people even saw that movie? Or got the whole Joe Eszterhas type dialogue and delivery part of that scene? Cracks me up just thinking about it.Comment

I loved the movie.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment
