          I second Gattaca. Great story.

I think alot of you are starting to name movies that were once popular or are cult classics. Some of the suggestions I've seen are hardly overlooked.

I got one for yall though, just seen it yesterday on HBO.

The Terminal starring Tom Hanks. Reminded me alot of Castaway as the story revolved strictly around him and his trails and tribs. Superb acting by Hanks as well. If its been mentioned already, disregard.

Come on now man, you're just naming any movie that just pops into your head. We're talking about a movie that had Dustin Hoffman, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Spacey, Donald Sutherland, and Rene Russo, hardly names that would show up in an "overlooked" movie. The really sad thing about that movie, is even with all those big stars the monkey probably did the best acting in the entire film.

Road to perdition( I may have mispelled it though) with Tom Hanks. I agree with almost all of you on most of the movies you guys ahve already named by that I will not repeat them but will throw out some you have not thought about.......the Waith(Charlie Sheen), the Time Machine and Monte Cristo)Guy Pierce)Undead( a bunch of Austrailian actors I never heard of) the Temptations ( Leon from 5 heartbeats) Electra (Jennifer Garner) Sphere( the books waaaaaaaaaaay better) I'll get back to guys because I know way too many that seem to get lost in the shuffle.

                        Re: The Most Overlooked Movie

There are a lot of GREAT sleeper movies in this thread. I'll add some of my choices.

The Big Kahuna- Great performance by Danny Devito

Night Falls on Manhattan- Nice supporting role by a Pre-Soprano James Gandolfini

Once Upon A time in America- James Woods & Robert Deniro at their best in a underappriciated gangster epic

Clean and Sober-Michael Keaton's best work- in a film that predates Batman.

Fearless-Jeff Bridges-Highly underated film examining Life and Death

The Doctor- William Hurt Film-Should be mandatory for every Pre-Med student
                        Jordan Mychal Lemos
                        @crypticjordan

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

                            1. Titanic (1997)
                            2. Star Wars (1977)
                            3. Shrek 2 (2004)
                            4. E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982)

                            Seriously though:

                            Cidade de Deus
AKA City of God (for American and UK release)

It is one of the best movies in recent memory. Probably one of the best movies you may every see.

Plot Outline: Two boys growing up in a violent neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro take different paths: one becomes a photographer, the other a drug dealer.

Give it a chance if you like movies. Dont let the subtitles discourage you.
