Since I didn't botice a thread here, I figured to start one.

Smallville was great last night. Things are heating up in the Lex Luthor - Jonathan Kent campaign race.

What is going on with Martha Kent & Lionel Luthor?

I think Lana is going to die in episode 100.

She didn't have an affair with him, but Lionel offered it to her pretty much.

I thought the conversations between Clark and Lana last night were funny. I know it was serious between them, but seriously it was funny about him thinking he would physically hurt Lana in the heat of passion. :y4:

I don't think killing Lana is gonna happen, but she is my least favorite on the show. I figure it's gonna be Ma Kent that dies, that is unless they pull a fast one are really don't kill someone (or keep someone dead) that is really close to Clark.

I guess we will see in 2 weeks. I just finished season 1 dvds tonight and I'm on to season 2. Great show.

Smallville tries to be consistent with the known Superman universe. Because of this, Lana can NOT die unless she somehow gets resurrected. If you don't remember, she was a primary figure in Superman 3 as well as the comics. In fact, whats-her-name that plays Martha Kent now played Lana in Superman 3.

Now of course they could go against all logic and decide to break away from the Superman storyline, but if they do that they will have to give up the show because Simon & Scheuster won't agree with it.

And like mentioned above, they could have the character killed coming back from the dead somehow later on down the road. That is the only way they can kill 99% of the cast.

There really is only one person that can die and stay that way that is close to Clark: Chloe Sullivan. To my knowledge she is a character completely made up by the Smallville writers (if I'm wrong about this and you can point out a reference for me, please do). I would add Lionel to that list, but its obvious he isn't close to Clark.

Lana doesn't die in the Superman mythos but they could probably stray from that if they really want to kill another major character off. The most obvious would be Jonathan, since he does die in the comics and movies but they're also hinting that there's another character who will die in the 100th episode.

Your right about Chloe she is only in Smallville.

Chloe Sullivan (1987–) is a fictional character from the television series Smallville, played by Allison Mack. She is a new character, introduced by Smallville creators into the Superman story to be their 'proto-Lois'; there is no mention of Chloe in the Superman comics or in the movies. There have been rumours about introducing her into the mainstream comic books; DC Comics bought the character during Smallville's third season.

Yes, I think Chloe would be the one to die since I've never seen her name in the comics.

I am happy that this series stays true to the Superman mythos.
